Konosuke Takeshita Wins NJPW World TV Title
Friday’s NJPW The New Beginning USA 2026 event also featured Konosuke Takeahita defeating El Phantasmo to become the new NJPW World Television Champion.
This match initially ended in a 15-minute time limit between Takeshita and ELP. As Takeshita was leaving, ELP grabbed a microphone and brought up the last time their match ended in a time limit draw and Takeshita’s recent time limit draw with Jon Moxley for the AEW Continental Championship. ELP then suggested they have a 5 minute over time and stated that this was something they both wanted and the crowd wanted to see. Takeshita responded getting back into the ring to make the restart official. Takeshita eventually hit a Raging Fire to ELP for the pinfall victory to emerge victorious.
