CM Punk Comments on His & Rey Mysterio’s Staying Power in Wrestling
A recent episode of the WWE Now podcast featured WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Punk’s thoughts about his and WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio’s staying power in WWE and wrestling.
“I’m definitely into what’s going on now, and, it’s not like I’m over anything in the past, It’s more, I look at how far I’ve come, you know, because I was watching somebody play the game and they were playing as me wrestling Rey Mysterio, and I was just like, man, it’s crazy. Cause it’s 2008. But then me and Rey also had like a banger of a match with Eddie in like 2002, you know? Then I went on to wrestle him extensively in like 2009 and now today we’re still doing it. So it really just kind of shows like the staying power. I look at him as one of the greats. So if I’m still side by side with him, you know, doing stuff, we tagged on a RAW in December and it’s just like, those are, those are the moments that make everything looking back at it, like kind of mind blowing.”
Punk also gave his thoughts about his WWE Championship #1 Contender’s match against John Cena in an episode of WWE RAW in 2013 being his choice for the best match he has ever had in his wrestling career.
“I think Money In The Bank is more of a moment. I think, just as a pure contest, that match, I think it was Dallas, that match means a whole lot more to me. I think that’s the best match I’ve ever had.”

Ric Flair Says He Is “Not Even Mad” at WWE Anymore Despite His Pulled Roots of Fight Merchandise Deal
As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair recently called out WWE on Twitter over him being upset that they caused his merchandise deal with clothing manufactrer Roots of Fight to be pulled. Flair claimed that this was just WWE trying to destroy more of his legacy in wrestling.
Flair provided an update on Wednesday on Twitter stating that he is not mad anymore about WWE causing his deal with Roots of Fight to be dropped and understands it was just a business move on WWE’s end.
“I just want to take this opportunity to thank Roots of Fight for letting me represent them over the years. It’s a pretty cool thing to have. It’s not as cool as being inducted into the Hall of Fame, but you’d be amazed at how many people admire and respect this brand. I think I’ve represented it well. People love it. I’m proud to have been part of the organization.
I’m not even mad at the people that took it away from me. I was at first, but I understand business, and business comes first. You always want to think that they’ll make an exception, but sometimes exceptions just can’t be made. So Roots of Fight, thank you for the honor and the privilege of representing you. And I look forward to seeing the next member of a great team. God bless. Thank you.”
Thanks For A Great Ride @rootsoffight! WOOOOO! pic.twitter.com/5LXoQ0NH4d
