MJF Claims Fake Pilot Once Tried to Abduct Him at AEW Show in Chicago in 2019

A recent episode of The Adam Friedland Show featured AEW World Champion MJF as the guest. One of the topics discussed included MJF giving his thoughts about how a fan had attempted to abduct him backstage at an AEW show in Chicago in 2019.

I’m at a show in Chicago, my father just had a heart attack. My mother told me, ‘Don’t worry.’ This is one of the first pay-per-views in the history of our company. ‘You don’t want to miss this.’ I’m there, I’m pretty distraught, I’m worried about my dad. He ended up being okay. A pilot walks up to me and he goes, ‘Mr. Friedman, I’m going to be flying you out back home after the show.’ To be fair, I had flown on the jet a couple of times with my boss up to that point. I find my boss after this pilot says this to me, I knock on his door, he opens the door, and I go, ‘I want you to know how much this means to me that you’re trying to fly me back home to my dad as soon as possible after he had the heart attack.’ Tony did know. He goes, ‘What the fuck are you talking about?’ ‘The pilot just told me.’ ‘I didn’t fucking book you a jet to go back home tonight.’ Now, I go back over with one of the EVPs, QT Marshall, and QT goes, ‘Who did you say hired you again?’ The pilot goes, ‘Tony Khan.’ We go, ‘Okay. Are you sure about that?’ Security comes and they grab this guy and QT goes, before the guy leaves, ‘We’ll let you stay if you show us your pilot’s license.’ The guy, I shit you not, does this, [pats his waist], ‘Ah! I left it at home.’ Get the fuck out of here!”

MJF also gave his thoughts about how himself and AEW still do not know how this person managed to get backstage but AEW has made changes to their security team since the incident.

“We still don’t know how he got backstage. To be fair, our security team has changed since then. It probably was the building security, not even AEW security fault. They asked this guy, ‘What were you planning on doing?’ He was honest. He said he was going to fucking abduct me. That’s the craziest fan wanting me dead scenario I’ve ever been in.”

MJF also gave his thoughts about he doesn’t know if the fan was ever prosecuted or what happened to the person after the incident.

“To this day, I don’t know what happened after that.”

Thunder Rosa Comments on Her Dual Contract with AEW & CMLL and How It Was In The Works For “About A Year”

As noted before, Thunder Rosa signed an official dual contract with CMLL and AEW earlier this month.

A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast featured co-host Rosa giving her thoughts about her recently signing a dual contract with CMLL and her current plans for her CMLL career.

“Well, I heard about this news that was possibly gonna happen, like less than two weeks ago, and we had some talks with Mike who is the person in charge of all the AEW talent. But this is something that we’ve been trying to work on for about a year to do something more stable in CMLL, so I could go more often. But it didn’t pan out after my injury so, we started talking again, I guess, about two weeks ago, and once they told me it was gonna be official was like five days or so (ago). Like two days before I went to Mexico City, and I mean, it is a huge deal for me because this is something that I’ve been wanting to do for, jeez, since I started wrestling. I wanted to be a part of CMLL since it’s one of the oldest companies in Mexico and also is one of the most rigorous companies that you will work as a professional wrestler even in Mexico…”

Max Caster AEW Abscense Update

Max Caster has been absent from AEW since this past December’s AEW Dynamite Holiday Bash 20255 show.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported in a recent Q&A article that his sources stated Caster is currently fine and is not, injured, nor in any doghouse in AEW.

Sapp speculated that one possible reason for Caster’s abscense was due to the Acclaimed reunion storyline with Anthony Bowens didn’t appear to be taking off on AEW television. Sapp reported that Caster’s Best Wrestle Alive Open Challenge gimmick drew great reactions and clearly got him over with fans despite his losing streak for it.

Sapp also reported that despite his current abscense from AEW, Caster has been working in the indies since then so it appears he is not just taking any time off from AEW.
