AAA TV Notes: La Catalina Makes Surprise AAA Debut Appearance, El Grande Americano Issues Challenge to Original El Grande Americano for Mask vs. Mask Match

La Catalina Makes Surprise AAA Debut Appearance

Saturday’s AAA TV show at the Gimnasio Olimpico Juan de la Barrera in Mexico City, Mexico featured former CMLL talent La Catalina making her official Lucha Libre AAA debut appearance.

During the show, Las Toxicas’ Lady Maravilla and La Hiedra were seen in the ring and introduced AAA Reinas de Reinas Champion Flammer for her celebration party as the longest ever Reina de Reinas Champion.

Flammer talked about everyone she has defeated and claimed there is no one left. This led to La Catalina’s music playing and her coming out to the ring.

La Catalina engaged in a brawl with Las Toxicas and proceeded to lay out Maravilla and La Hiedra and shoved Flammer’s face into her celebratory cake before clearing the ring of her. La Catalina then grabbed the Reina de Reinas title and posed with it.

El Grande Americano Issues Challenge to Original El Grande Americano for Mask vs. Mask Match

Saturday’s AAA TV show also featured El Grande Americano officially issuing a challenge to Original El Grande Americano for a Lucha de Apuestas, Mask vs. Mask match.

Following Original El Grande’s victory over Octagon Jr. on the show, comedian Alexis Arroyo, also known as Ojitos De Huevo, was among the celebrities shown at ringside who were asked for the predictions for the WWE Intercontinental Championship match between El Hijo del Vikingo and Penta later on the show. Arroyo made a remark directed at Original El Grande that upset him enough that he grabbed Arroyo and pulled him over the barricade. Original El Grande then locked in an Ankle Lock to Arroyo leading to El Grande Americano II coming out to save Arroyo and brawled with Original.

In a follow-up, Original and El Grande II showed up during the main event match between Penta and Vikingo and continued their brawl from earlier on the stage. Following Penta’s victory over Vikingo to retain his WWE Intercontinental title, Original and El Grande II continued brawling which led to security rushing out to separate the two. El Grande II grabbed a microphone and issued a challenge to Original for a Mask vs. Mask match at a future show.
