Update on Berwyn Eagles Club in Chicago No Longer Hosting Wrestling Events After Fake Fan Stabbing Incident at 3/28 Ruthless Pro Wrestling Event

As noted before, indies wrestler Krule, also known as Mads Krugger and Mads Krule, was involved in an alleged fan stabbing incident at an indies event for Ruthless Pro Wrestling this past March in Berwyn, Illinois. This “stabbing” incident was later revealed to have been faked and the host venue Berwyn Eagles Club no longer would be hosting wrestling events due they had lost their license as a result of the incident. A GoFundMe fundraiser was recently launched to help financially support the venue after the loss of their primary source of income.

The Chicago Sun-Time reported that the Berwyn’s city attorney and chief of police stated that the venue’s entertainment license had not been revoked as a result of the incident at this past March’s event for Ruthless Pro Wrestling.

It was reported that the venue normally pays for one officer during wrestling events and officials had recommended increasing that number to four after the brawl involving several wrestlers towards a fan.

It was not stated if the venue was prohibited from hosting future wrestling events due to the incident.

Wrestling personality and podcaster Conrad Thompson recently shared correspondence with Berwyn city officials on Twitter which stated that the venue does not require city approval to run wrestling events unless they are held on public property. Thompson stated that it was the venue who made the decision to no longer host wrestling events.
