Today is the 10-year anniversary of the iconic Best of the Super Juniors tournament match between Ricochet and Will Ospreay during their time together in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
This match was famous in wrestling history for being one of the greatest ever matches in NJPW’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament and for being a sensation on social media over people sharing clips showcasing the athleticism of both while other criticized it over the amount of flips done and not telling a story.
Ospreay reflected on Twitter earlier today about how his match with Ricochet had changed everything for them and how he is grateful for being part of the “flippy shit” generation.
“10 years ago today was the match that changed everything. It’s crazy how quick time has flown by.
Seeing where me and ricochet are now in our careers makes me smile.
Grateful to have been part of the “flippy shit” generation.”
