In-Ring: Oba Femi, Jey Uso

“The Ruler” Oba Femi heads to the ring to a big ovation. The crowd chants his name as he struts down to the ring. He’ll face Jey Uso in the King of the Ring Finals this Saturday at WWE Night of Champions, which starts at 1 p.m. Eastern. Femi stands in the ring as the crowd loudly chants to him. Femi says, “You guys are wonderful here in London tonight.” As much as he’d love for them to chant his name all night… he’s cut off by more chants of his name. Femi listens for a bit before asking them to settle down. Since he was born, he’s been backed by destiny. She’s been very kind to him. Destiny led him to WWE, allowed him to slay The Beast, and brought him this far in the tournament. Good news: Destiny is still on his side. This weekend, at Night of Champions, destiny will take him to new heights as he becomes the new King of the Ring. The crowd loudly chants his name again.

Femi then asks what happens when he becomes King of the Ring. He still faces a dilemma in choosing a champion. Does he go after the WWE Championship or does he go after the World Heavyweight Championship? The crowd loudly cheers the World Heavyweight Championship and chants, “OTC.”

“USO!”

“Main Event” Jey Uso makes his way to the ring through the crowd. Uso takes his time getting to the ring, and the entire O2 Arena is doing the “YEET” dance. Femi doesn’t look impressed. The music stops, but the crowd wants Uso to run it back. Femi says if Uso is thinking about running it back, he’ll put an end to it now. Uso dares him as he does, indeed, run it back. Femi looks annoyed. Uso says Femi must have forgotten that he’s “him.” Uso says Femi wants to count him out, but he’s used to that. They counted him out when he won the Royal Rumble. They counted him out when he won the World Heavyweight Championship. They counted him out when they saw him shake arenas. They counted him out, thinking he can’t win King of the Ring. They counted him out because they don’t think he can beat Femi. Uso will silence the haters and shock the world. On Saturday, he’ll climb that mountain and take the crown. Uso is going to SummerSlam against Cody Rhodes and will be the Undisputed WWE Champion. Uso says that’s Femi’s warning shot, and he throws a one in the air.

Femi gives Uso a piece of advice: if he shoots, he had better not miss. If he does, he’ll destroy him. Even if he doesn’t, he’ll still destroy him. At the end of the day, Uso isn’t the family member he’s worried about. Uso can take his “stupid bullet” and give it to his cousin, courtesy of Oba Femi. The crowd chants Femi’s name as Uso stares at him.

In-Ring: Chad Gable, Alpha Academy

Chad Gable makes his way to the ring with his new theme song. Gable high-fives some fans on the way to the ring. Gable says he didn’t just lose the mask. He lost his self-respect, reputation, dignity, and friends. Rey Mysterio reminded him that it’s never too late to right some wrongs. Gable wants to invite a few people out here to do just that. Gable asks Otis, Akira Tozawa, and Maxxine Dupri to come to the ring.

The Alpha Academy makes their way to the ring with somber looks on their faces. Gable thanks them for coming out. They didn’t need to give him the time of day, but they did. From the day Maxxine joined the Alpha Academy, her potential was clear. She did something he wasn’t able to do: win a singles championship. The way he treated her was pathetic and embarrassing. That’s on Gable. That’s his fault. As for Tozawa, he has the heart of a lion. It’s the size of a giant. Gable tried to smother him, holding him down. It was pathetic and embarrassing. Tozawa didn’t deserve it. That’s on Gable.

An “Otis” chant picks up. Gable says Otis is by far the most loyal friend any human being could have. Otis would have taken a bullet for him or jumped in front of a moving car. Gable becomes emotional, saying they’ve been friends for twenty years. He misses Otis. They trained at the Olympic Training Center. They were Tag Team Champions together. Otis held his girls the day after they were born. Gable threw it all away because he selfishly wanted a singles championship. He wanted the Intercontinental Championship more than he wanted Otis’ friendship. They don’t owe him a damn thing, but he owes them something. He’s looking all three of them in the eyes to say, “I’m sorry.”

Gable extends his hand, but they look down. Otis paces in the ring. Otis winces and then extends his hand, but Maxxine stands in his way. She says there was a time when she believed every word coming out of his mouth, but she knows everything coming out of his mouth is a lie. She knows they want to forgive Gable. She knows Otis and Tozawa have the biggest hearts and want to give him a second chance, but she doesn’t. She reminds him how he made her beg not to hurt Tozawa, or when she had to stop him from whipping Otis. She remembers. They all remember how he left them high and dry to drown in this business. Where was he? Chasing his own dreams because it’s always been about Gable. This apology is for Gable. When she achieved Gable’s dream, she realized they didn’t need him then and don’t need him now. They’re going to leave him the same way he left them: alone.

Maxxine and Tozawa walk off as Gable looks on sadly. Otis stays in the ring and turns to look at Gable before walking off.

Lee fights back and kicks him in the face. Lee heads to the top rope, but Page cuts him off. Lee knocks him down and hits a double stomp as Page is in the tree of woe for a near fall. It looks like one of the tassels on Lee’s boot caught Page in the eye.

Lee sets up for a suicide dive, but Page forearms him in the face. Page lifts Lee on the apron, but Lee elbows out. Lee knees Page in the face and hits a diving hurricanrana off the apron.
