WWE SmackDown Returns as Weekly Two-Hour Show

Friday’s taped WWE SmackDown show featured SmackDown returning as a weekly two-hour show on USA Network. This will be the first time since this past January that SmackDown ran as a weekly two hour runtime show.

SmackDown is currently expected to remain as a weekly two-hour show again until at least the end of 2026.

Danhausen vs. JD McDonagh and Fatal Influence vs. Scream Mode for WWE Women’s Tag Titles Set for July 18 WWE SNME Show

Friday’s taped WWE SmackDown show also featured two new matches announced for the card of the next WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event show, which takes place on July 18 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York.

The first new match announced was a singles match of Danhausen vs. JD McDonagh.

This new match was initially setup over recent weeks shows over Judgement Day’s bad blood issues with Danhausen and his curses to the group. During tonight’s show, Danhausen was seen backstage in his lab with The Miz and Kit Wilson as his test subjects only to find out that Judgement Day once again messed around with his equipment. Danhausen informed Matt Cardona who showed up that he has a match with McDonagh at Saturday Night’s Main Event show.

The second new match announced was a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match of Fatal Influence (Lainey Reid & Fallon Henley) vs. Scream Mode (Paige & Brie Bella) (c).

Cody Rhodes Wins Shot at Undisputed WWE Title & Rematch with Sami Zayn Set for 7/6 RAW Show

Friday’s taped WWE SmackDown show also featured Cody Rhodes defeating Jey Uso in a #1 Contender’s match for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

As a result of his victory, it was announced that Rhodes will be facing off against Sami Zayn in a rematch for the Undisputed WWE Championship at the July 6th WWE RAW show in Rosemont, Illinois.
