Scott D’Amore on Adam Copeland Arriving To Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling for Northern Rising 2026 Event

As noted before, this past Wednesday’s MLP Mayhem show on TSN2 featured Adam Copeland being revealed as big mystery person coming to Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling. Copeland was announced to be making an appearance at MLP’s Northern Rising 2026 event on October 3 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Following the show, MLP owner Scott D’Amore held a post-show press conference. One of the topics discussed included D’Amore’s thoughts about Copeland making his arrival to his MLP this October.

“When you think of Canadian wrestling in the past 25 years, is there a name that’s bigger than Adam Copeland? I mean, as Edge in the WWE, and now as Cope and Adam Copeland in AEW, he’s been at the forefront of the industry for over two decades.

And he’s an individual who, I mean, his story’s been told, and we’ll tell it over the coming weeks, but he grew up in Toronto, dreaming of being a pro wrestler, of taking, you know, public transit down to Maple Leaf Gardens, you know, scraping up all of his money to buy a cheap seat to the show to go there and be able to watch wrestling in Maple Leaf Gardens. So when Adam heard about our return to Maple Leaf Gardens, he was over the moon.

Adam and I go back to, jeez, we were roommates 30 years ago in our first territory in Moncton, New Brunswick. And we were friends before that. That bonded us, you know, tighter. And we’ve stayed in touch over the years, and I mean, for this, I mean, for Adam Copeland, it’s huge because he gets to go wrestle and fulfill a childhood dream that he thought he was never going to get an opportunity to do.

For Maple Leaf Pro, it’s an honor, it’s a privilege, and it’s, you know, in a business where we like to hype things up, I don’t think this needs any hyping. One of the biggest stars in wrestling, one of the biggest Canadian athletes of the last couple of generations is coming to Maple Leaf Pro for Northern Rising, and I don’t think it gets any bigger than that.”
