Jay White & Jon Moxley Advances in Continental Challenge Cup Tournament

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show at Pearl Theater At Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada featured two First Round matches for the AEW Continental Challenge Cup tournament.

The first match was Jay White defeating David Finlay.

The second match was Jon Moxley defeating Jungle Jack Perry.

As a result of their victories, White and Moxley advances to the next round of the Continental Challenge Cup tournament.

MJF Wins #2 Spot for Men’s Casino Gauntlet Match at AEW All In 2026

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured one match to determine the second spot for the Men’s Casino Gauntlet match at All In 2026.

This was MJF defeating Nick Wayne and “Speedball” Mike Bailey in a Three-way match to earn the #2 spot.

Swerve Strickland Makes Surprise Return

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured Swerve Strickland making a surprise return.

During the show, AEW World Trios Champions Hangman Adam Page, Brody King, and Bandido came out to the ring for an interview with Tony Schiavone. Before Hangman was able to speak, Strickland’s music played and came out to the ring with Prince Nana.

Nana grabbed Schiavone’s microphone and insulted him for having stinky breath and told him to leave since he would handle things right now. Nana handed off the microphone to Strickland who mocked all three guys and brought up his past history and bad blood with each of them.

After some more heated words between Strickland and Hangman, The Demand’s music played and came out to the stage with The Lethal Twist.

Ricochet asked Strickland what he is doing out here since this is official trios business. After some insults directed at Prince Nana about if he is going to step back into the ring, Ricochet talked about what Strickland did to him a whole back with the toilet paper streamers and how he abandoned GOA. After some more words, Ricochet demanded a rematch for the AEW World Trios titles stating that Bishop Kaun’s shoulders were not down for the three count. Ricochet then told Strickland to get his ass out and get to the stepping so they can finish their business. As Strickland was making his way to the back with Nana, Strickland told Ricochet that Brody may be doing a lot of barking but Ricochet is the one who’s a bitch. This led to a furious Ricochet trying to get his hands on Strickland as he was being held back by GOA. After Strickland left, Hangman told Ricochet that he can have a rematch for the titles right now. This led to The Demand and The Lethal Twist making their way down the ramp before Ricochet stating that he wants to do this on their own time and him and his large group left.

This was Strickland’s first appearance since this past June’s Forbidden Door 2026 event.

Darby Allin vs. Kevin Knight in Falls Count Anywhere Match for TNT Title Announced For All In 2026

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured the first of two new matches announced for the card of All In 2026.

This new match is a TNT Championship Falls Count Anywhere match of Darby Allin vs. “The Jet” Kevin Knight (c).

This new match was initially setup over recent weeks shows over Allin’s bad blood issues with Knight since Knight turned on him and attacked him at Double or Nothing 2026. During tonight’s show a video aired featuring Allin revealing that he had a talk with Tony Khan and will be getting his match against Knight for the TNT title at All In.

Kazuchika Okada vs. Konosuke Takeshita vs. Kyle Fletcher for AEW International Title Announced for AEW All In 2026

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured the second of two new matches announced for the card of All In 2026, which takes place on August 30 at Wembley Stadium in London, England.

This new match announced was an AEW International Championship Three-way match of Kazuchika Okada vs. Konosuke Takeshita vs. Kyle Fletcher (c).

This new match was setup following a backstage interview segment involving Don Callis, Okada, and Fletcher. Fletcher gave an angry reaction after Callis told him that he would be defending his belt not only against Takeshita but also Okada at All In. Fletcher yelled at Callis for not caring about what he wants as champion. Okada responded telling Fletcher that all that matters is that the belt stays in the Don Callis Family which led to Callis agreeing with Okada and Fletcher leaving in frustration.

This upcoming show will be taped on Wednesday, August 12 as part of that night’s AEW Dynamite show tapings at the same venue.
