Nick Aldis Gives Chelsea Green 30 Days To Get Medically Cleared & Defend Her WWE Women’s Title
Friday’s WWE SmackDown show at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts featured SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis addressing Chelsea Green’s broken orbital bone injury and WWE Women’s Championship status.
During the show, Aldis was seen in the ring and talked about how Green suffered a broken orbital bone injury last week. Aldis then called out Green since he a decision has to be made.
This led to Green coming out and stated that he talked to WWE medical officials and he couldn’t allow Green to compete with a broken eye socket. Aldis then told Green that she has to relinquish her WWE Women’s title.

An emotional Green responded talking about how she knew it was too good to be true and she knew when she climbed the ladder and took the title down that the other shoe would drop. Green continued stating that every single time something good and magical happens to her in this business, something equally devastating happens. Green stated that is her story. After some more words, Green told Aldis that until someone took the title off of her, it was her’s to keep. Green then took off her title and handed it to Aldis and left the ring. As Green was making her way to the back, Aldis told Green to wait and stated that as the GM, he thought he was doing the right thing, but as a man, he didn’t give a damn what medical thought. Aldis then told Green that she has 30 days to get herself cleared for action and that the WWE Women’s title was her’s until someone took it off of her.

Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton Set for Sept. 9 Sunday Night’s Main Event Show
Friday’s WWE SmackDown show also featured one new match set for the card of WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event show, which takes place on September 9 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
This new match announced was a singles match of Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton.
This new match was initially setup over recent weeks shows over Rhodes’ bad blood issues with Orton costing him the chance to win back the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam and Orton’s bad blood issues with Rhodes since WrestleMania 42. During tonight’s show, Rhodes confronted SmackDown GM Nick Aldis backstage and demanded to have a match against Orton. Aldis stated that Orton was not here tonight but he would get the chance to face Orton at WWE’s next SNME show. Zayn showed up to interrupt and took offense to Aldis’ actions against him of late and how he grants Rhodes whatever he wants while he refuses to do the same for him wanting a rematch for his Undisputed WWE title. Aldis responded telling him that he can get the winner of Kevin Owens vs. CM Punk for the title but first he has to face Rhodes in a match tonight if he wants it and doesn’t care of his broken hand injury claims.
