Ilja Dragunov has been noticeably absent from WWE since the April 17th WWE SmackDown show where he competed in this year’s Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal match.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Dragunov’s contract with WWE has expired and he is leaving the company.
Johnson reported that Dragunov’s name was removed from WWE’s internal roster list this week.
False Finish reported that their sources stated that WWE officials would have liked Dragunov to stay with the company but he had opted to let his contract expire.
Dragunov’s profile on was recently moved over to the Alumni section on WWE’s official website.
Prior to his departure, Dragunov had been with WWE since January of 2019 and initially worked for their NXT UK brand before being moved over to their NXT brand and later the main roster.
