Chris Jericho Says He Was In Talks For Potential Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling Appearance & Would Still Like To Work For The Promotion In Future

A recent episode of The Casual Conversations with The Classic podcast featured Chris Jericho as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Jericho revealing that he had been in talks with Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling for him making a potential debut appearance at their upcoming Northern Rising 2026 event and those talks being dropped due to scheduling issues. Jericho also gave his thoughts about how he would still like to work for the company in the future.

“I was actually talking to Scott about doing something on the big show that Adam Copeland is on, but it just didn’t work out for scheduling. I had something else going on that day that I couldn’t get out of. I would love to do something with Maple Leaf Pro. I just love the fact that it’s a Canadian company. Scott’s a great guy and he’s very smart to the business, so I’m sure it’s gonna be a success. Yeah, I’d love to be involved in it because once again, for the same reasons that we talked about earlier with Vietslam, he’s doing it for the right reasons. I’ll support it for that reason as well.”

Brooke Havok Participates in ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in Support of Rebel

As noted before, Rebel, real name Tanea Brooks, was diagnosed with terminal ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) this pastMay. AEW has released a special “Rebel Heart” merchandise with 100% of the profits going to support those affected by ALS. Rebel became an ambassador for the I AM ALS organization this past June. AEW will be holding a special themed “Rebel Heart” episode of AEW Dynamite on September 9 in Athens, Georgia in honor of Rebel and to raise funds for the I AM ALS organization and Team Gleason.

In recent months, several AEW talents and personalities have been participating and challenging their co-workers to also participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in support of Rebel. Besides those from AEW, others from within the wrestling world have also participated in the challenge including Nattie, Tyson Kidd, Bayley, and Cody Rhodes from WWE, John Skyler from TNA, and Brodie Lee Jr. and Big Boom AJ.

Indies talent Brooke Havok recently participated in the challenge and posted a video on Twitter.

In her video, Havok accepted the challenge from Cody Rhodes and nominated B3CCA, Charlie Evans, and Nixon Newell.

The National Wrestling Alliance recently announced that their upcoming NWA 78 event episodes will be airing on Comet and Sinclair-owned CHARGE networks starting on August 29. It was announced that NWA 78 will be split up into five episodes for NWA Powerrr and will air each week from August 29 to September 26.

Action News 5 reported that Memphis and Shelby County, Tennessee recently issued a proclamation officially announcing that September will be known as Dave Brown Day in the city and county in honor of the legendary Memphis Wrestling wrestler’s 80th birthday.

Marcus Mathers recently announced that Avery Styles will be making an appearance for ETU Wrestling for their Marcus Mathers All I Want 4 event on September 19 in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey.

PROGRESS Wrestling co-owner Big Damo recently teased on Twitter that a former WWE and AEW talent will be making an appearance at PROGRESS’ When September Ends event on September 27 in London, England. Damo stated “Theres a hint in the show title…I would really recommend you nab your tickets soon 😉“

In a recent interview with MuscleManMalcolm, AJ Francis gave his thoughts about why he is the LeBron James of professional wrestling. Francis stated “It’s me. I’m 6’5, 300 pounds.
