AEW Dynamite Taping Spoilers for August 26th Episode in Glasgow, Scotland – Finals Set for AEW Continental Challenge Cup

AEW held a new television tapings for AEW Dynamite on Wednesday at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.

This taping will be for tonight’s Dynamite episode on TBS and HBO Max.

The reason for the taping was due AEW not holding the show live due to the five hour difference in time zones between the United States and Scotland.

In regards to notable moments from the tapings, Jon Moxley and Nigel McGuinness advanced to the Finals of the AEW Continental Challenge Cup tournament at All In 2026. Moxley defeated Claudio Castagnoli and McGuinness defeated Kyle O’Reilly in Semifinal Round matches.

• Will Ospreay gave a promo talking about he wasn’t sure he would make it back from neck surgery but now the question is “can he win the big one?” Ospreay continued stating that to understand what it takes to be a British wrestler fighting for the world title on the biggest stage, you have to understand what it’s like to be a British wrestler. Ospreay talked about his days on the independent scene in England and says it was all to show the UK is where the best wrestle. Ospreay then talked about Kenny Omega saying that he is not here tonight and how he lost all of his respect for Omega after Omega mentioned his son. Ospreay then stated that he promises to give his best on Sunday and there is a debt that needs to be paid and that it is time to bring it home.
• AEW Continental Challenge Cup Semifinal Round match – Jon Moxley defeated Claudio Castagnoli
• Trios match – Adam Copeland & The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) defeated Don Callis Family (Rocky Romero, Jake Doyle, & Brian Cage)
• Christian Cage came out and gave a promo saying the Young Bucks will find out on Sunday why they name matches after them. The Young Bucks responded stating “Have they ever named a company after you?” The Young Bucks continued stating Sunday won’t be an accident when they superkick him. Christian responded kicking Matt in the groin and Copeland speared Nick after he superkicked Christian.
• Mercedes Mone attacked Willow Nightingale backstage before she can make her entrance and targeted her wrist.
• Don Callis gave a promo declaring Mark Davis for the Casino Gauntlet match.
• Andrade El Idolo’s music hits but he doesn’t appear. MJF’s music then plays, and he came out. MJF stated that he paid off guys to beat up Andrade. MJF also stated that he can do everything that Andrade does. MJF then stood by the guardrail and says he has one question, which led to Andrade appearing behind him asking “How you know?” Andrade attacked MJF leading to MJF running away.
• Chris Jericho was declared for the Casino Gauntlet match
• AEW Continental Challenge Cup Semifinal Round match – Nigel McGuinness defeated Kyle O’Reilly
• Kyle Fletcher and Kazuchika Okada had tension backstage
• Trios match – Persephone & Divine Dominion (Lena Kross & Megan Bayne) defeated Maya World & The Brawling Birds (Alex Windsor & Jamie Hayter)
• A video package aired for “The Jet” Kevin Knight and Darby Allin
• Swerve Strickland defeated Jungle Jack Perry
