Myles Borne Comments on Him Pulling Double Duty at NXT Heatwave 2026

A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast featured NXT North American Champion and NXT Tag Team Champion Myles Borne as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Borne’s thoughts about him pulling double duty defending both of his titles at WWE’s upcoming NXT Heatwave 2026 event and him wanting to make WWE SVP of NXT and Talent Relations and NXT overseer Shawn Michaels proud.

“Of course I want the fans to see that I’m going out there twice on Sunday and I want to give them the best showing possible but I’m also — you know, the goal for me and the challenge is I wanna walk through (the) curtain both times and Shawn (Michaels) be proud of what we do out there.”

Borne also gave his thoughts about his training with WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles at the Performance Center.

“Just making sure that my cardio’s in check, my conditioning is good, that I don’t go out there and get tired and lazy and fall apart. I want to be on the top of my game and I wanna be comfortable and I notice that when my conditioning is good, I’m more relaxed, and it’s been a great past couple months of training. I’ve been actually working with A.J. Styles and the cardio that he puts us through is a whole other level…”

Romeo Malverde (Santos Escobar) Comments on People He Learned From In WWE

As noted before, Santos Escobar was released by WWE this past April as part of a larger batch of talent releases and departures. Escobar will be going by the new ring name of “Romeo Malverde” for his post-WWE wrestling career going forward.

The Undisputed’s Justin Barrasso held a recent interview with Malverde. One of the topics discussed included Malverde’s thoughts about who he learned from during his time in WWE.

“I learned from Terry Taylor, Norman Smiley, Fit Finlay, Steve Corino, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H. The amount of knowledge and wisdom they poured into me translated into a much more mature and intelligent superstar–and a much more profitable one. I learned from AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton. I’m going to show the world what I learned, with every piece of my being, every time I step in the ring.”

The Rock Reflects on Zilla Fatu’s Arrival To NXT

As noted before, the August 11th WWE NXT show featured former indies talent Zilla Fatu made his official WWE debut for the NXT brand. Fatu is currently scheduled to be competing in a Fatal Four-way match for the NXT Championship at NXT Heatwave 2026 on August 30 in Edinburg, Texas.

Prior to this past Tuesday’s WWE NXT show, WWE had released a new video on Instagram focusing on Fatu and his recent arrival to the NXT brand.

Among those who commented on the video included Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson who showed his support to Fatu and wrote “Time to eat fam.”
