Matt Cardona Provides Update on Torn Triceps Injury After Undergoing Surgery
As noted before, Matt Cardona is currently out of action for WWE since last week due to a torn triceps injury.
Cardona provided an update on Friday on Instagram stating that he had underwent surgery to repair his triceps.
“There is no good time to get injured. When I got injured on the indies, I was ‘The Indy God,’ right? I had all these titles, I was killing it. Getting hurt was a momentum killer, a buzz killer, and I was trying so hard to get back to WWE, so that sucked when I got hurt then. But now, I think it sucks even more because let’s be honest, these past seven months, I haven’t been doing much, and I’ve been optimistic that something is gonna change and it did a couple weeks ago with the GUNTHER opportunity… There’s no dead weight on the roster so I knew it would be an uphill battle. But yeah, it just sucks getting hurt now when I’m still figuring out who Matt Cardona is in WWE… I’m not getting any younger, right? I’m 41, which, you know, I don’t think is that old. I feel like I’m in the best shape of my career besides this injury. The two World Champions are my age or older. But I’m closer to the end than I am to the beginning. So, five months, six months, three months off, at this point in my career, that’s a long f*cking time. So it is certainly not a good time to get injured.”
Cardona also stated that he will be back faster than his surgeon told him for his recovery.
“I worked too damn hard to come back to have this injury ruin it, so, I’ll be back, faster than the surgeon said, and I’m coming back to be the WWE Champion or I’m gonna die trying.”

Charlotte Flair Comments on Being Labeled “Difficult” For Questioning WWE Creative
A recent episode of the Power Hour with Ilona Maher podcast featured Charlotte Flair as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Flair’s thoughts about how she feels she has earned the right to offer an opinion regarding WWE creative matters involving her and having to balance being an athlete who wants to win with being booked to lose.
“It is tough. Because a lot of people that I work with haven’t played sports, and I also feel being a woman in the industry, sometimes if I do have an opinion, it’s like, ‘Oh man, she’s just difficult.’ No, I’m not difficult. I have an opinion. I’ve done this for a long time. I deserve to have it.
At the same time, you kind of have to let down your ego as an athlete and go, we are here to tell stories and we’re here to elicit emotion, and if that’s what’s best for the story, then you have to just, like, eat it.
Because what I’ve learned over the last year, and I was guilty of this, is all I could attach my emotions to is winning, winning, winning. When it’s like, wait, hold on. This still isn’t real. Your losses are making you win as a businesswoman. So, for me as an athlete, having to understand that has been such growth.
I’ve had for years now the freedom for putting the match together. They might have, like, she’s winning or she’s winning, we’d like her to win by submission or pinfall. But in terms of the dance, they’ve always allowed me to put the dance together.”

ITRWrestling held a recent interview with WWE Hall of Famer and Busted Open Radio co-host Mark Henry. One of the topics discussed included Henry clarifying his status with WWE.
“I’m not on a Legends deal. I do not have a Legends deal; I don’t know why people assume. I do not work for WWE. I do WWE Radio through SiriusXM. That’s pretty much the only connection. I have a Nostalgia deal, where I allow them to use my name to make action figures and do video games and that kind of stuff. But I don’t work for them.”
