As noted before, Matt Cardona is currently out of action for WWE since this past late August due to a torn triceps injury and surgery.
Cardona provided an update earlier today on Twitter posting a video of the moment when he had suffered the torn triceps injury during his match against Kit Wilson for the tapings of WWE Main Event.
In the video, Cardona was seen performing a dropkick to Wilson but landed hard on his arm. Cardona stated that because he has done that move so many times before, he wasn’t too worried despite his arm immediately not feeling right. Cardona also stated that the next couple of spots in the match ended up confirming to him that the injury was serious and that was when he knew his triceps was torn.
“Here’s the footage of me tearing my tricep during a match against @KitWilson_PD. I hit my dropkick off the second rope and something didn’t feel right. But there’s no way I could hurt myself on a move I’ve done hundreds of times…right? Then I closelined him over the top rope and that felt weird too. Once I grabbed the rope for my baseball slide, I knew I tore my tricep. Injuries suck, but they are part of the job. I’m recovering after surgery and start rehab today. I’ll be back. I’M NOT FINISHED.”
