Gisele Shaw vs. Nikki Storm for MLP Women’s Canadian Title Announced for MLP Northern Rising 2026

Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling recently announced one new match for the card of Northern Rising 2026, which takes place on October 3 at the TMU’s Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

This new match announced was a MLP Women’s Canadian Championship match of Nikki Storm vs. Gisele Shaw (c).

Hechicero Addresses Criticisms of His CMLL World Heavyweight Title Match Against Eddie Kingston at Aug. 28th CMLL Viernes Espectacular Show

The August 28th CMLL Viernes Espectacular show at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico featured Hechicero defeating Eddie Kingston to retain the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship. This match was notable for being Kingston’s in-ring return from an undisclosed injury and for the negative online reception from fans over Kingston’s performance quality issues.

Mas Lucha held a recent interview with Hechicero. One of the topics discussed included Hechicero’s thoughts about the negative online criticisms of his match against Kingston.

“I don’t have a problem with it. I don’t think that in this field of wrestling…We always have matches that go well, sometimes things just don’t go as we wish.
I believe what happened was that we failed to connect with the emotions the audience needed as the match unfolded. It’s not about the method; it’s about the way they are presented. Often the same match against the same opponent can provoke hundreds of different reactions depending on the audience present in that venue. But on a different day, with a different crowd in another city, another state, or another country, and maybe even at the same event, in a different order, as the first, second, or third match, the result may have been completely different.
Simply put, it was a complicated match and we didn’t succeed. Complicated because, in my opinion, we couldn’t achieve the emotional connection that the audience needed as the show developed.
Eddie Kingston has had a successful career. He is highly respected in the independent scene. He participated in the G1 in Japan. It’s not easy to be called upon by them. So we cannot question his quality. I haven’t gotten over it either. If he wants another chance, I will be ready.”

Revolution Pro Wrestling reportedly drew an attendance of 5,000 for their Aug. 29th 14th Anniversary event in London, England, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Dave Meltzer reported that this event broke the record for largest attendance for a RevPro event in company history.

NJPW reportedly drew a paid attendance of 1,817 for their Aug. 30th Road To Destruction 2026 event in Shimonoseki, Japan, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Marigold reportedly drew a paid attendance of 603 for their Aug. 28th Dream Star Grand Prix 2026 event in Tokyo, Japan, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

CMLL reportedly drew an attendance of 12,500 for their Aug. 28th Viernes Espectacular show at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Dave Meltzer reported that this event broke the current sellout streak that CMLL had for their Friday night shows at 15 weeks in a row. This event featured the main event of Eddie Kingston vs. Hechicero for the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship.

This past Wednesday’s CMLL Informa show featured CMLL announcing that they will be giving a special commemorative championship belt to the person who purchases the one millionth ticket for a CMLL event this year. This only counts CMLL events and not co-promoted or special events.

Pro Wrestling EVE reportedly drew an attendance of between 600 to 700 for their Aug. 28th EVE x The World 2 event in London, England, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
