Andy “The Butcher” Williams Passes Away At Age 48

As noted before, former AEW talent The Butcher, real name Andy Williams, was rushed to the hospital after suffering a medical emergency at an event for Enjoy Wrestling on Saturday in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Enjoy Wrestling cancelled the remainder of their event following Williams’ medical emergency.

TMZ reported that Williams passed away on Sunday after getting confirmation from the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.

“Andy Williams – a professional AEW wrestler known as ‘The Butcher,’ died Saturday after experiencing a medical emergency during a tag team match in Pennsylvania, according to authorities.”

Williams’ pro wrestling career spanning from March of 2016 to September of 2026 and was most known for being one half of the tag team The Butcher and The Blade and his time in AEW from 2019 to 2026. Besides AEW, The Butcher also had notable stints in Ring of Honor, Smash Wrestling, Beyond Wrestling, and Game Changer Wrestling.

Outside of the ring, Williams was also most known for being the rhythm guitarist of the metalcore band Every Time I Die.

Williams’ wrestling career achievements and accolades included being a one-time PWR Tag Team Champion.
