ROH Pure Championship Proving Ground Match
Serpentico vs. Lee Moriarty (c)

It’s Thursday night, and that means it’s ROH on HonorClub time. Here for the call on this match was Tony Schiavone & Paul Wight.

10-minute time limit and Pure rules in effect for this one as we got underway with Moriarty wrenching at Serpentico’s arms. The Pure Champ showed his technical prowess as he transitioned it into an armbar that forced Serpentico to use rope break number one to break the hold.

Waist locks and standing switches by both men as Serpentico got a la magistral pin attempt for the two-count. Moriarty tried for the slam, but Serpentico countered it into an arm drag. Whip to the corner, but Moriarty dodged and hit a slam of his own. Fast-paced action as two minutes went by with a Kitchen Sink knee by Moriarty on Serpentico.

Snap suplex with the bridge, but Serpentico kicked out at two. Moriarty kept himself in a bridged position just to flex on his foe before applying the arm submission. Serpentico countered, but he got caught in the abdominal stretch by Moriarty. Serpentico used his second rope break to stop the hold. Knees to the midsection of Serpentico, who got the school boy roll-up in response for the two-count. Thrust kick by Serpentico and the rans not long after. Serpentico walked the middle rope and hit the DDT on Moriarty from it for a two-count as the five-minute mark approached.

Serpentico to the top rope but Moriarty avoided the splash and caught his opponen in a sleeper. Belly-to-belly suplex by Moriarty into another bridged pin, but Serpentico kicked out at two with under five to go. Superkick by Serpentico, but Moriarty flipped him into a Sliced Bread variation. Face plant slam by Moriarty and he blazed it with the Border City Stretch to make Serpentico cap with 4:20 on the clock.

Winner: Lee Moriarty via Submission.

We got a recap of Emi Sakura & Deonna Purrazzo’s tag team match from last week that ended in a victory, and a betrayal from Sakura, who made it clear he wanted a piece of Purrazzo’s title.

ROH Women’s Pure Championship Proving Ground Match
Rebecca Scott vs. Deonna Purrazzo (c)

Just like our opener, ten-minute time limit and Pure rules enforced.

Underway here with a collar-and-elbow tieup, but Rebecca had Purrazzo in an arm wrench. The Women’s Pure Champ got out of it and taunted, but Rebecca rolled her up for an early pin attempt. Purrazzo went for her arm bar early, but couldn’t cinch it in completely as Rebecca escaped.

Chickenwing stretch by Purrazzo, but Rebecca got out of it. Stereo big boots, but both women caught each other’s foot. Purrazzo ate a hurricanrana takeover from Rebecca, who hit an European uppercut for the close two at about 7:50. Whip to the corner reversed by Rebecca, but the boot from Purrazzo put a stop to that. Takedown by Purrazzo rolled into an armbar, but Rebecca reversed it into a pinfall attempt. Big boot by Purrazzo on Rebecca as both women were down with about 6:45 left on the clock.

Both got to their feet as they exchanged strikes. The imposing Purrazzo blasted Rebecca with elbows and a huge big boot. Powerbomb, but Rebecca countered for a pin. Second go-around connected for Purrazzo, as she turned that into the armbar and the Venus De Milo hold. Rebecca submitted as this match ended at 5:45. An impressive 22-0 record for Purrazzo in Pure matches now.

Winner: Deonna Purrazzo via Submission.

“Main Man” Oro vs. Mark Davis

The action shifted to Jacksonville with the usual ROH crew of Ian Riccaboni and Caprice “Cool as Ice” Coleman on the call.

Davis refused the Code of Honor, as Oro hit him with a series of big boots. Davis withstood them and hit a big boot of his own. Scoop slam, but Davis missed the senton. Running kick by Oro followed by the splash into the corner. On the top rope, Davis chopped Oro down and caught him with a kneebar over the top ropes. Running charge onto Oro sent him into the barricade hard. Davis kept the punishment train rolling with a drop onto the hardest part of the ring. Chop by Davis as he kept pounding Oro like raw meat. Forearm onto a downed Oro only got a two-count for Davis. Oro tried to fight back, but he was left stunned in the corner by Davis. On a seated position, Oro was flattened by a running elbow by Davis.

Chop to the chests by Oro, but he got hit with the forearm. Davis went for his running monster clothesline, but Oro avoided calamity with the flipping heel kick. Davis got him good with the front suplex and another brutal forearm. Oro managed to kick out at two as he hit Davis with the kick to the head. Inverted neckbreaker by Oro, but Davis kicked out at two. Davis retreated to the apron as he got hit with the knife-edge chops from Davis. However, he got sent back into the ring with a single lariat. Wall-walk moonsault kick by Oro on Davis sent him to the floor. Oro followed that with a spinning moonsault. In the ring, Davis hit Oro with the clothesline, but that wasn’t enough for the dub. Gutwrench Doctor Driver, but Oro turned that into a pin for the near-fall. German Suplex by Oro followed the lariat to the back of Davis. One, two….. 2.99999999!!!!!!!!!!!

Davis slammed Oro face-first and wetn for a powerbomb, but another reversal into a pin and another near-fall. Backslide attempt by Oro was blocked as Davis smoothly turned that into a Doctor Driver for the three. Great stuff here.

Coleman was with the IInspiration for his weekly interview segment.

Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay talked about how they were drawn into wrestling by Eddie Guerrero in high school. They discussed how they were expanding with a new addition on the way as Jessie is pregnant.

Caprice asked for something inspirational from the two. They said that they were always having their sights set on the gold. As Caprice did his usual signoff, Jessie chastised him for scaring the baby.

Viva Van & Vertvixen vs. Athena & Billie Starkz

Viva and Athena kicked off the match as they got into an arm wrench exchange. Viva dodged Athena’s clothesline with flourish, which flustered the Forever Champion. Tie-up by Athena followed by a hard strike on Viva as VertVixen tagged in. Tag to Starkz, who blasted VertVixen with the knee to the side of the head. Whip to the corner, but VertVixen countered Starkz and hit her with the strong shoulder tackle. Another tackle to Starkz, but she kicked out at two. Clothesline countered into an overhead suplex by VertVixen sent Starkz in to the corner. That left her open for the sliding dropkick.Athena stepped in and got a forearm from VertVixen. Double suplex by Viva and VertVixen on Athena left her staggered.

Starkz hit VertVixen with a tornado DDT while Athena and Viva brawled at ringside. Stomps into the corner by Starkz as Athena tagged in and aggressively choked VertVixen with her boot. Starkz chopped VertVixen across the chest with another tag to Athena. The wristlock into the chinlock by Athena kept VertVixen isolated. Athena drove her knee to the back of VertVixen as Starkz tagged in. A cascading barrage of running knees and boots into the corner by Athena and Starkz left VertVixen stunned.

The chinlock by Starkz on VertVixen, who fought out of it until she was slammed by the head. Athena back into the match with the fish-hook hold on VertVixen. Athena struck out on the running knee as VertVixen dodged it. Springboard enzuigiri by VertVixen created some needed space for Viva Van to tag in. Viva unloaded the forearms and chops on Starkz, followed by the double-foot atomic mule kick. On the top rope as the shotgun dropkick from Viva hit the mark. The cover, as Athena tried to break it up, but Viva got out of the way to cause Athena to hit Starkz instead by accident (or was it?)

Viva and VertVixen hit a nice double backbreaker on Starkz as Vert then got the Blue Thunder Bomb for the near-fall. Vert had Starkz in a waistlock position, but Starkz turned it into a roll-up for two. That gave her enough time to tag Athena. Viva stepped in and got flattened by a clothesline from Athena. VertVixen dragged to the drop zone for the diving knees by Starkz. Athena took care of business as Starks hit VertVixen with the spinning kick. Viva stepped in to neutralized Starkz as Viva got Athena with the Shining Wizard. Everyone down, but Starkz rolled out of the ring.

Viva got up and lifted Athena. Starkz pulled VertVixen down fromt he apron, but she got caught in suplex. Starkz countered it into the ushigoroshi. Back in the ring, Ocean Cyclone Suplex attempt by Viva, but she got countered into Athena’s lifting facebuster for the three.

Winner: Athena & Billie Starkz via Pinfall.

Alan Angels vs. “Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington

The tie-up by Billington led to a bit of a shoving contest, as Angels got the slam on him. However, Billington kept the wristlock on hold through it. Billington with the shoulder tackle followed by the suplex. Standing switch led to Angels countering with an arm drag of his own. Headscissors from Billington sent Angels out of the ring for a breather.

Still in the feeling-out process as the wristlock as still on lock by Billington. Missed crossbody by Billington as Angels dodged it. Outside the ring, Angels was sent crashing hard by the high back-body drop. On the top rope, Angels with some nice anti-air defense on Billington’s splash with the dropkick. Hard chop into the chest by Angels as he turned that into a Northern Lights suplex for the two-count. Angels mocked his foe and got another chop on Billington’s chest. Dynamite responded with a chop of his own followed by the back elbow. Big monkey flip by Billington caused Angels to leave the ring. Suicide dive by Billington sent himself and Angels into the barricade. High crossbody by Billington for the two-count.

Piledriver attempt by Billington countered into a roll-up from Angels for the two-count. Springboard into the dragon suplex by Angels left Billington stunned. Running elbow to the face of Billington by Angels still wasn’t enough for the three. Angels looked for a top rope move, but Billington cut him off. Angels slipped out of it and caught him in the dropkick. Hurricanrana by Billington led to the double-foot dropkick. That was enough for a good, old-fashioned piledriver from Billington for the duke.

Winner: “Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington via Pinfall.

Backstage: Deonna Purrazzo

Deonna Purrazzo said that if Emi Sakura wanted a Pure Championship match, she could’ve simply just asked as she told her that she’d see Sakura soon.

Preston Vance vs. Jarett Diaz

Diaz refused to shake Vance’s hand to start this match. Vance backed Diaz into the corner and broke it clean. Chop to the chest by Diaz, but Vance withstood it easily. He then showed Diaz how it was really done with a hard chop of his own. Diaz got out of it in the corner with a dropkick. Diving splash, but Diaz swung and missed at the plate, which led to a barrage of lariats from Vance. Huge spinebuster by Vance as he swung for the fences with the spinning lariat. Full Nelson submission and you can kiss this one goodbye.

Winner: Preston Vance via Submission.

As is tradition, the Dark Order entered for their match as Evil Uno and Alex Reynolds hugged Vance. John Silver refused to do so and told his teammates to get away from Vance as our next match was coming up.

ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship
Dark Order (Alex Reynolds, John Silver, & Evil Uno) vs. The Lethal Twist (Jay Lethal, Blake Christian, & Lee Johnson) (c)

Reynolds and Lethal kicked it off as the latter avoided the clothesline and did his Fargo Strut. Reynolds responded in kind with a dodge and a strut of his own. Reynolds got the better of Lethal with the dropkick, but a whip into the ropes led to a Johnson kick to the back of Reynolds. The tag, but the attempted triple team was stopped by Reynolds. That wasn’t enough as the barrage of moves left Reynolds down and out as Johnson and Lethal did the Strut.

Reynolds avoided Johnson’s big boot as Uno tagged in. The Dark Order shelled Johnson with the triple dropkick, as they followed that up with one more for the road. Silver tagged in and took care of Johnson as Uno soon entered and struck his foe with a hard chop. Reynolds with the tag to keep Johnson isolated from his Lethal Twist buddies. Quick tag to Silver, who continued to work over Johnson. Lethal’s intervention allowed Johnson to escape Silver’s punches. Silver trapped in a tree of woe as Johnson and Christian unleashed a barrage of tiger feint kicks and dropkicks to their prone foe. Christian finished that off with the triangle moonsault to Reynolds and Uno at ringside.

More triple team action from the Lethal Twist, but Reynolds and Uno with the save as Lethal was getting crushed by an endless series of attacks from The Dark Order. The cover, but Christian broke it up with the double stomp from the top rope. Everyone’s down now as they eventually got on their feet and exchanged fire. Triple superkick salute by the Dark Order. Lethal Injection intercepted as the Dark Order nearly had the match won with the triple team. The cover, but The Swirl broke up the count.

Big Shot Drop by Johnson on Reynolds assisted by Christian, but the Dark Order broke up the count. Wild chaos in the ring as everyone mixed it up. Mr. Mystery Wrestling’s Spicolli Driver was intercepted as he found himself on the wrong end of a Blake Christian low sliding German suplex. Silver alone in the ring with the Lethal Twist, but he began to fight back with chops galore. Midsection kick, but Silver lifted Christian and Johnson for the super-strong suplex. Silver got Lethal with the brainbuster not long after. Discus elbow by Reynolds accidentally took Silver out. Double-stomp by Christian led to Johnson’s Spicolli Driver and that’s the match.

Winner: The Lethal Twist via Pinfall to retain the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship.

After the match, Reynolds and Silver got into it over the friendly fire as Preston Vance entered the ring, looking to play peacemaker. Silver told Vance to scram as he wasn’t part of the group. Even with the “hug it out” chants from the crowd, Silver left the ring as this week’s ROH on HonorClub drew to a close.
