AEW Provides Positive Updates on Steven Borden’s Head Injury

Saturday’s AEW All Out 2026 event at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois featured AEW providing a medical update on Steven Borden following him suffering a head injury during the AEW World Tag Team Championship #1 Contender’s match and was unable to continue.

During the show, AEW commentator Tony Schiavone stated that AEW CEO Tony Khan wanted to relay the information that Borden is conscious and is at the hospital. Schiavone also stated that doctors are currently tending to Borden at the moment.

In a follow-up, Schiavone provided an update after the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Chicago Street Fight match. Schiavone stated that Borden is currently responsive and has been talking about his match with doctors. Schiavone also stated that Borden has underwent a CAT scan and they are awaiting the results.

Thekla Wins Contender’s Match and Thekla vs. Mercedes Mone for AEW Women’s World Title Set for WrestleDream 2026

Saturday’s AEW All Out 2026 event also featured Thekla defeating Willow Nightingale in a #1 Contender’s match for the AEW Women’s World Championship.

As a result of her victory, Thekla will be facing off against Mercedes Mone for the AEW Women’s World title at WrestleDream 2026, which takes place on October 17 at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.

The Young Bucks Wins AEW World Tag Team Titles

Saturday’s AEW All Out 2026 event also featured The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) defeating FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) and Cage & Cope (Christian Cage & Adam Copeland) in a Three-way Ladder match to become the new AEW World Tag Team Champions.

This was the Young Bucks’ fourth AEW World Tag Team Championship victory in their AEW careers.

Wardlow Return Vignette Airs

Saturday’s AEW All Out 2026 event also featured a vignette airing hyping up the upcoming return of Wardlow.

Wardlow has been out of action for AEW since August of 2025 due to a torn pectoral injury and for filming commitments for the American Gladiators reboot series for Amazon Prime.
