Backstage Update on Jacob Fatu’s WWE Absence After Hit By Car Injury Angle

As noted before, Jacob Fatu has been out of action for WWE since the September 28th episode of WWE RAW due to a storyline “injury” after he was hit by a car driven by Jaida Parker during a backstage brawl involving The Bloodline and 946.

Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that the reason for Fatu’s abscense is believed to be due to him currently being involved in the filming of a WWE show. Meltzer reported that Fatu, Joe Hendry, and Drew McIntryre have been involved in the filming for this upcoming new show.

No other details were given regarding what this new WWE show is that is currently in production.

John Cena Comments on “I Miss Performing In WWE Every Single Day” & His Belief Cody Rhodes and CM Punk Are Putting Too Much Unneeded Pressure On Themselves In WWE

PEOPLE held a recent interview with John Cena. One of the topics discussed included Cena’s thoughts about how he has missed performing in WWE every day since his in-ring wrestling career retirement this past December.

“I have moments of nostalgic reflection on the daily. A lot of times, that’s when you’re overwhelmed by stress or confused or maybe you don’t know the answers that you’re trying to seek. Nostalgia is in itself looking back to a simpler time in the unknown or during crisis. I got daily moments of that, man. Daily. I’ll look back on my early wrestling days, or I’ll look back on college days, or I’ll look back on my life in dormitory school, or even as a kid. That happens on the daily, man.

I miss all of it every day. I miss performing every single day,” he says, regarding what he misses about the WWE lifestyle. “And that said, just because I miss it here,” he adds, pointing to his heart, “doesn’t make it the right decision here,” gesturing toward his head.

In a separate recent interview with the Busted Open Radio podcast, Cena gave his thoughts about the desires and pressure that top talent put on themselves and his belief that CM Punk’s obsession with main eventing WrestleMania and Cody Rhodes’ focus on being QB1 have caused them to put unneeded pressure on themselves in WWE.

“Where people get caught up is like, I love (CM) Punk, and his obsession with main eventing WrestleMania, I think, is a weakness, and I think if you talk to him now, he evolves as a human being. Every time I see him, he evolves as a man. That’s only my personal preference. I think he’s carrying a weight he doesn’t need. That’s all — not a weakness. I think he’s carrying a weight he doesn’t need. As far as Cody (Rhodes) wanting to be this thing, but you’re carrying a weight you don’t need. Just do great work and the people will show up.”
