As noted before, Anna Jay has been absent from AEW since this past June due to a shoulder injury.
Jay provided an update in a Twitch stream in late September stating that she will be undergoing surgery to repair her shoulder soon.
“I’ll give you guys the update, it’s a little unfortunate: I do have to have shoulder surgery. I’m going to be having that in the next week or two. So unfortunately — I did not want to have surgery, obviously, no one wants to have surgery. But the reason it’s taken me this long is because I’ve gotten multiple opinions from different doctors and different surgeons just to make sure that I’m making the right choice and the best for my shoulder. So, obviously, I would have had my surgery a couple months ago if that was not the case. But I just wanted to make sure, like I said, I was making the right decision and doing it with the right person. So I’m having surgery soon, unfortunately. But, fortunately, hopefully it fixes my shoulder issues.”
Jay also stated that if she didn’t get things fixed, her shoulder would just keep getting dislocated.
In a response to a question about how long her recovery from surgery will take, Jay responded stating that she expects it to be a pretty “typical” timeline for a shoulder issue but she doesn’t want to get her hopes up by publicly putting a timeframe for it.
