Steve Maclin Revealed He Suffered Broken Fibula Injury Ten Weeks Before Match With Adam Copeland at MLP Northern Rising 2026
Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling’s Northern Rising 2026 event earlier this month in Toronto, Ontario, Canada featured the main event of Adam Copeland defeating Steve Maclin in a Street Fight match.
A recent episode of the Boots to Boots with Deonna Purrazzo & Steve Maclin podcast featured co-host Maclin revealing that he had suffered a broken fibula injury ten weeks prior to his match against Copeland for MLP’s event.
“48 hours ago, I was told that I would have the biggest opportunity of my career. That is a singles match against Adam Copeland at the Maple Leaf Gardens. And then, as fate always has it with me to teach me a lesson, I break my fibula. Now what?
July 24th, Windsor, Ontario. A Ford dealership in a car showroom for an independent show in a move that I have done thousands of times and it may have just cost me the biggest opportunity of my career. First thing I thought that I might lose was my match with Adam Copeland at Northern Rising for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling at the Maple Leaf Garden.
I’ve already wrestled twice on it at Maple Leaf Pro with a broken leg.
If Adam Copeland can come back from a broken neck in 10 years, what is stopping me from coming back from a broken leg in 10 weeks?”

Backstage Update on Ben Bishop’s TNA Debut Appearance at TNA Bound For Glory 2026
As noted before, this past Sunday’s TNA Bound For Glory 2026 event at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida featured indies talent Ben Bishop making his surprise debut appearance in TNA. Bishop was one of the surprise entrants in the 20-Person Call Your Shot Gauntlet match at the event.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that TNA officials had been interested in Bishop since 2025 and his name was through around regularly within the company dating back to the previous leadership regimes.
Those spoken to within TNA reportedly stated that former TNA Head of Talent Relations and creative booker Tommy Dreamer was not a fan of Bishop’s social media clips for the reason why it had taken a long time to bring him in the company. Many other people within the company reportedly had stated that it should have been a big positive in his point to bring Bishop in.
