Drew McIntyre Comments on His Current WWE Status Amid His Hollywood Career

As noted before, Drew McIntyre has been absent from WWE since this past April’s WrestleMania 42 event due to his filming commitments for the upcoming Highlander reboot and the new The Last Druid films. McIntyre had finished his filming for both films this past August in Scotland. McIntyre revealed this past late September that he has been training for an in-ring return to WWE.

Outkick held a recent interview McIntyre. One of the topics discussed included McIntyre’s thoughts about his current absence from WWE and when he will be returning back to the ring.

“We’ll see. You know, I’m as big as I’ve ever been. I’m 285 right now. I’m 10 pounds bigger than I was for Agent of Shadows. I’m in the best shape of my life. I posted myself running the ropes the other day, you know? Keep myself in ring shape. I’m always ready to go. I think it got like over eight million views just bouncing off the ropes a few times — across my social media platforms — but right now, I’m focused on ‘Hollywood Drew.’ So, we’ll see. We will see. I’m not giving anything away.”

Bruce Prichard To Undergo Neck Surgery

A recent episode of the 83 Weeks with Eric Bischoff podcast featured co-host Conrad Thompson revealing that WWE Executive Bruce Prichard will be undergoing neck surgery soon due to his neck issue has been affecting his quality of life.

“I don’t know that Bruce has revealed it, but Bruce has been dealing with a neck injury. It turns out that Bruce is going to have to have some surgery on that rascal, and he hadn’t been having the best quality of life recently. He’s on the mend, he’s doing rehab and all that jazz, but he’s hurting for certain.”

Thompson also stated that Prichard had actually first suffered the injury in the early 1990s during an angle where he was attacked by the Ultimate Warrior in WWE.

“He broke his neck, and he just found out just recently. All these years later.”

Backstage Update on WWE’s Current Plans For Oba Femi vs. Roman Reigns

As noted before, this past Saturday’s WWE Money in the Bank post-show featuring Oba Femi calling out Roman Reigns again for a future match for his WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Femi had stated that Reigns’ time as champion was running out.

Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources stated that despite Femi’s recent comments teasing an imminent match with Reigns, WWE officials current plan is for him to face off against Reigns at WrestleMania 43.

Meltzer reported that those spoken to stated that Femi was simply just reacting to the crowd chanting for him to go after Reigns next and he felt that was what he should do because the crowd was really into it.

Meltzer also reported that Reigns is currently scheduled to be competing in the Men’s WarGames match at this November’s Survivor Series WarGames 2026 event so a potential match with Femi couldn’t happen there.
