In-Ring: The Hardys, Amazing Red, Leon Slater

Tonight, in addition to dealing with the fallout from Bound For Glory, Impact is a celebration of the 35 year career of Matt and Jeff Hardy and as such, they have played matchmakers for the evening. After a handy Bound For Glory Recap, the GOATs themselves headed to the ring.

Matt addressed the crowd and said tonight was going to be special. Jeff chimed in and said they were celebrating tonight and the crowd gave them their props. Matt said that tonight would surely have some extreme matches and events. Jeff announced that if either of the Nemeths try to intentionally lose their match tonight, they will be stripped of the tag team titles.

Matt said that both syX and the Righteous have tried to kill them, but they are still standing. So, tonight they will face off in a tables match. As well, there will be a six-woman match that includes the TNA Knockouts Champion Indi Hartwell and the TNA Knockouts Tag Champions the Apex.

Then, the Hardys asked new TNA Hall of Famer and X-Division Champion Amazing Red to come down to the ring. So, he did.

Matt gave Red his props for winning the title on the same night he went into the Hall of Fame, which no one has ever done before. Red thanked everyone and said that tonight is about the Hardys who have inspired generations, including Red himself. He congratulated them on being the GOATs and then Matt called down new TNA World Champion Leon Slater.

Slater came to the ring to a big ovation and mentioned that Red and the Hardys have been wrestling longer than Slater has been alive. Their connection to everyone in TNA will last forever and Slater hopes that he can have that kind of legacy. Slater said that as he went into Bound For Glory, he started feeling some doubt. He called The Rock, sorry, his rock, which was his mother. She helped him find his confidence and now he’s the youngest TNA World Champion ever. Slater said that anyone who wants him can come get him.

Jeff said that a match with Slater has been on his bucket list and making it for the title would make it sweet. Matt said that they aren’t going to book themselves tonight, but will book Elijah, Jason Hotch, Ricky Sosa, Trey Miguel and Moose in a ladder match for a contract to face Slater at Desitnation X.

Backstage: The Nemeths

Backstage the Nemeths lamented having to face each other. Nic was mad he wasn’t in the ladder match and wasn’t getting his rematch for the World title tonight. Ryan asked what would happen if he won their match tonight and Nic laughed and said he was going to tell their mom to watch and left.

Backstage: Santino Marella, The System

Back from break, Director of Authority Santino Marella was relaxing when The System approached him. Cedric Alexander said he wants his X-Division title back, and Bear Bronson asked why there was no member of The System in the ladder match. Eddie Edwards said that Ricky Sosa actually deserves to be in the match. Then Santino said that he was “on vacation” and left. Bronson got mad at Edwards for sticking up for Sosa.

Ryan Nemeth vs. Nic Nemeth

Leon Slater took Nic Nemeth’s TNA World Title at Bound For Glory and speaking from experience as a big brother, when you’re upset, sometimes you just gotta take it out on your little brother. The Hardys made this match and added the stipulation that if either Nemeth tries to intentionally lose, they will be stripped of their Tag Team Titles.

Nic, sporting a pretty nice shiner from Bound For Glory, accepted and handshake from Ryan and they danced around each other, neither one wanting to make the first move. Finally, Ryan gave Nic an Orange Cassidy-worthy kick to the shins that Nic sold like he’d been shot. He lay down and Ryan covered him, but that brought out the Hardys who reminded them of the stipulation and said that they must fight!

Ryan then tried a quick rollup, but Nic kicked out. Nic tried one on Ryan, but no joy there either. The Nemeths tried to figure out a way out of it, but the crowd and the Hardys told them to fight, so a shoving match ensued. It got more and more heated until Nic hit Ryan with a superkick, knocking him cold.

Nic didn’t make the cover and Ryan stirred, while everyone chanted “one more time.” Nic hit a Fame-Ass-er on Ryan and then made the pin to “win” the match.

Winner: Nic Nemeth via Pinfall.

After the match, Nic grabbed a mic and said “look what you made me do!” and then said that he wants his rematch for the World Title and he’ll be watching the ladder match later.

Backstage: The Hardys, Expressions, AJ Francis

The Hardys were walking backstage talking about how great that was when Expressions and AJ Francis approached them. Expressions said that Francis deserved a big match tonight. So The Hardys booked Francis and Expressions in a tag match against… them! The Hardys left and Expressions begged Francis to get him out of it.

Backstage: Harley Hudson, The Righteous

Back from break, Harley Hudson was approached by the Righteous. She thanked them for having her back at Bound For Glory and Vincent said that tonight is going to be beautifully dangerous. Dutch said that she should stay in the back for her own safety, even though they’d love to have her out there with them.

Tables Match
The Righteous (Dutch & Vincent) vs. syX (Joseph Sawyer & Samuel Shaw)

At Bound For Glory, syX defeated the Hardys in a Falls Count Anywhere Match with an assist from the debuting Eric Redbeard. The Hardy’s best revenge is to feed syX to the only people as twisted as they are, The Righteous. The only way to win this match is to put both members of a team through tables.

They started off brawling with Vincent and Sawyer moving to the outside while Dutch worked over Shaw. Vincent ran in for a flatliner and syX regrouped on the outside. Both teams went under the ring to pull out tables and set them up. Sawyer jumped Vincent before he could get his set up though and we went to commercial.

Back from break, a table was in the ring and Shaw belted Dutch in the face, trying to knock him off the apron onto a table. He settled for throwing him into the steps instead and Sawyer battled Vincent in the ring. He laid Vincent out with a big clothesline, but no tables were broken.

Vincent grabbed Sawyer and tried to jam some Lily of The Valley into his mouth, but Shaw made the save. Shaw superkicked Vincent off the apron onto a table, but it didn’t break. So, Shaw went down and powerbombed him through the table to make sure it counted.

Dutch then sent Sawyer through a table to tie things up before hitting Shaw with Death Walks. Dutch set up a table in the ring and laid Shaw out on it. He went up top, but Sawyer got back up and grabbed his ankle. That let Shaw get up and throw Dutch from the ringpost and through the table to win the match.

Winner: syX.

Backstage: The Hardys, Frankie Kazarian, Avery Styles

Backstage, the Hardys were approached by Frankie Kazarian and Avery Styles. Kaz said that he hopes the Hardys win the Tag Titles so he can call his shot and he and Avery can take them. Matt said he liked how Kaz was watching over Avery, so he said that if they win them back, they get the first shot.

Video: Allie, Rosemary

Back from break, Allie was shown having a vision of Rosemary with a green face painted on the wall above her. So, there’s that.

Expressions & AJ Francis vs. The Hardys (Matt & Jeff Hardy)

Expressions (who is not a wrestler, by the way) and Francis asked for a “big” match and the Hardys made this one. No one expected it, but here we are.

Francis and Jeff locked up off the top and Matt tagged in for an Axe Handle. The Hardys traded off working Francis until Matt knocked Expressions off the apron.

Francis got one over on Matt and hit him with a running knee. Expressions tagged in and stomped Matt, then made fun of Jeff’s juking. That brought Francis back in before Jeff could get ahold of him and he grabbed Matt in a bear hug. He dropped him and Expressions came in for his version of the People’s elbow. He missed it and Francis came back in to take on Jeff.

Jeff got him down and stepped on the gas before dropping a flurry fo elbows for a two count. Jeff went for a twist of fate, but Francis countered it into a powerslam. Expressions held down Jeff while Francis went up top, but Matt pulled him down into a tree of woe. Matt bounced Expressions’ head off the turnbuckles before hitting him with to twists of fate (twist of fates?). Jeff added a swanton and that was is.

Winner: The Hardys via Pinfall.

Six-Woman Tag Team Match
Xia Brookside & Apex (Zoey Serrano & Shayna Baszler) vs. Indi Hartwell, Gabby Forza, & Harley Hudson

I just want to put this out there to the new Knockouts Tag Champions: Cool team name, but I think Randy might have something to say about it. As for their partner, Brookside lost her TNA Knockouts Title to Indi Hartwell at Bound For Glory so I’m sure she’s going to be in a foul mood to see her across the ring again so soon.

Hartwell and Brookside picked up where they left off, but Brookside tagged right out and brought in Baszler. She wrapped Hartwell’s arm around herself and then Serrano tagged in for some elbows. Hartwell came back with a big boot and HUdson tagged in to throw kicks at Serrano. She hit an armdrag and then a hip attack in the corner, but Serrano pulled her face first into the turnbuckle.

Serrano went for a scoop slam, but Hudson pushed her away and tagged in Hartwell. Baszler tagged back in and they traded shots until Serrano grabbed and blind tag and clotheslined her out of nowhere. Baszler came back in and hit an armbreaker on Hartwell, stomping her for good measure before tagging in Brookside.

Brookside put Hartwell’s arm in submission lock, but Hartwell got out of it and hit a spinebuster. She got a tag to Froza as Baszler and Serrano came in and Forza hit them with a double suplex. Hudson tagged in and Forza picked her up and threw her onto Baszler and Brookside on the outside.

Serrano came in and flattened Forza and Hudson took over. Bazsler joined them in the ring and Hudson accepted her fate and ate a Killshot into a choke hold from Bazsler. Brookside cut Hartwell off from making the save and Hudson passed out to end the match.

Winner: Xia Brookside & Apex via Submission.

TNA World Championship #1 Contender Five-Way Ladder Match
Moose vs. Elijah vs. Jason Hotch vs. Ricky Sosa vs. Trey Miguel

This match was put together by the Hardys to determine who will face TNA World Champion Leon Slater at Destination X on November 15th. Slater joined commentary for the match.

Moose was sent to the corner by Miguel and Hotch off the top and Sosa and Elijah battled. When the dust settled Sosa and Moose were left in the ring and they shook hands then started throwing bombs. Moose sent Sosa to the mat but he sprung back up with a dropkick. Moose responded with one of his own that sent Sosa crashing to the outside.

Elijah popped in and kicked Moose in the head to send him out. Miguel took his place and then Hotch, but Elijah took them both out. Sosa flew in from the ring post and dropkicked Elijah back out. Moose arrived next and Sosa hit him with a Spanish Fly off the ropes. Miguel then took Sosa down with a headscissor. Sosa responded with a Blue Thunder Bang and then Hotch sent Sosa to the corner with a headscissor.

Hotch hit a neckbreaker on Sosa and hopped back up to find himself alone. He looked for a ladder but found Moose instead. Elijah joined them and Hotch hit a double DDT. Miguel nailed Hotch with a Poisonrana and then an insiguri to Elijah. Miguel dropkick/stomped Sosa and Moose came in to clear the ring, sending Elijah to the outside.

Moose then went under the ring looking for a ladder. He noticed that they were set up at ringside and used one of those instead. He and Elijah fought over the ladder, but when Hotch and Sosa went for a dive, they threw the ladder at them. Miguel then flipped over the top rope to take everyone out.

Back from a break, Elijah and Hotch were climbing a ladder in the middle of the ring. They traded punches but before Hotch could grab the contract, Sosa scrambled up and hit him off the ladder. Elijah and Hotch then tipped the ladder over, sending Sosa flying. Miguel took everyone in the ring out and then leapt over the top rope at Moose. Moose caught him and powerbombed him on the ring apron.

Hotch started climbing the ladder, but Mustafa Ali ran in and knocked him down. They battled up the entrance ramp and into the back as the match continued. Miguel found himself alone in the ring and started climbing the ladder, but Sosa and Elijah cut him off and pulled him down. Sosa kicked Elijah and his head hit the ladder. Sosa started climbing but Moose cut him off and powerbombed him onto a ladder that had been set up like a bridge.

Elijah then flew in out of nowhere and cracked a guitar over Moose’s head. Elicjah started to climb the ladder and had his hand on the contract, but then Nic Nemeth ran in and knocked the ladder over, sending Elijah sprawling. He tried to grab the contract, but Miguel took him down and started to climb the ladder.

Miguel made it to the top and pulled the contract down to punch his ticked to Destination X.

Winner: Trey Miguel.

After the match, the Hardys came down to the ring to congratulate Miguel and thank the crowd for being part of the 35th Anniversary Hardy Party.
