In-Ring: Sami Zayn, Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, Trick Williams
Sami Zayn just told Trick Williams he doesn’t have "IT…" 😳 https://t.co/zqb5ZIX6qw
— WWE (@WWE) October 17, 2026
From there we head to ringside as Sami Zayn’s music hits, bringing out the Undisputed WWE Champion (gawd that still feels weird), alongside his pals Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae (which is almost weirder to type out, Johnny Gargano touching the main event scene…anyways). Sami gets a mic from Johnny to address the Sacramento crowd. He asks who came to ride or die with the last real good guy, and gets a mixed response from the fans. He hates to say he told us so, but every one of these vultures circling him for the title the past few weeks got what they deserve.
He addresses those who came up short before congratulating Penta on winning Money in the Bank…before telling him to focus his energy on Roman Reigns. He talks about getting ready to face Roman at Crown Jewel in a battle between the world champions, addressing their history before saying he’ll wait until Raw to say anything further to the face of Reigns. He starts to move on when Trick Williams makes his way out, the crowd chanting “Whoop that Trick” as he gets to the ring.
Trick gets a mic of his own as he poses for the crowd, but Zayn demands the music gets cut short before demanding what Williams is doing out here. Trick pokes fun at Sami before addressing why Sami hates seeing him, as it reminds him of the people turning on him…and how he is looking at a real superstar. He says he doesn’t care about the ride or die fans, after what he did to disrespect Trick a couple weeks ago, he’s gonna beat Sami’s a–. Sami laughs at this, saying what he did wasn’t respect.
He says he told Trick to his face he wasn’t going to tolerate the disrespect, but Williams kept turning things around to make everything a joke. He says Trick doesn’t know when to take things seriously, claiming a lack of survival skills. This is a jungle, and you need those skills to survive Sami’s jungle. Sami can feel the electricity on his tongue, but he is telling Trick he needs to stay where he is.
Trick takes his shades off, asking if he looks like he’s joking. He dares the champ to take a swing at him and see what happens. Gargano tries to defuse the situation as he reminds Trick he’s dealing with the Undisputed WWE Champion. He talks about the opportunities Trick has been handed, and how he has so many things but not the title that Sami has. If Trick keeps this up, he’s going to deal with him and show that they don’t call him Johnny Entrance, they call him Johnny freakin’ Wrestling.
Trick says none of that matters to him, that he has worked as hard as everyone else to get where he is…and offers to beat Johnny’s a– tonight. Gargano accepts, and we get a ref coming down the ramp for an impromptu opening match up next!
Johnny Gargano vs. Trick Williams
Sami Zayn may have just realized that Trick Williams does in fact have "IT." 👏 https://t.co/TRCEr6zos8
— WWE (@WWE) October 17, 2026
We come back from break into a match already underway.
The two lock up before Trick sends Gargano to the ropes. A misstep appears to hurt the knee of Trick, something Gargano takes advantage of for just a moment before being knocked to the mat with a shoulder tackle by Trick. Johnny is sent to the corner as Williams continues to go to work. Gargano starts to fight back, focusing on the knee until Trick lands a kick to set up for a delayed vertical suplex.
Gargano leaves the ring, but is quickly followed by Trick who slams him against the announce table. He sends Johnny back in the ring, staring down Sami at commentary before heading back to the ring…only to be distracted by LeRae, allowing Johnny to cut him off before landing a dive sending the United States Champion to the announce table. He gets a hug from Zayn as we go to picture-in-picture.
Picture-in-Picture: Gargano continues the damage as he brings Williams back into the ring, attacking the injured leg for good measure. He traps Trick’s arm before cinching in a half crab of sorts, but Williams manages to break free as he gets to his feet. The two trade strikes with Johnny winning out as we come back from break….
…only for Williams to flapjack Johnny Wrestling to the mat! Ax kick from the champ before sending him to the ropes for another flapjack. He sends Gargano to the corner, but Johnny fights back before hitting the ropes..where he walks into a boot by Trick, who slams him to the mat for a two count.
Trick heads to the corner, waiting for Gargano to get on his feet. LeRae distracts Williams, allowing Gargano to roll him up for two. He fights back with some kicks before dropping Trick to the mat for a nearfall. Trick sent to the corner as Johnny stares at Sami, thinking he’s going for a Helluva Kick…but he gets cut off by Williams! He goes for a slingshot suplex but gets hit with a Trick Shot instead, and Williams follows up with a Book End to pick up the win.
Winner: Trick Williams via Pinfall.

Video: Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match Replay
We go to a video package looking back at the women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match this past weekend and our winner Tiffany Stratton.
Backstage: Nick Aldis, Blake Monroe, Chelsea Green, Nikki Bella
Backstage, Nick Aldis confronts Blake Monroe for her recent actions before telling her she’ll face Giulia next week in a Street Fight. Monroe scoffs at this when Chelsea Green steps in, giving Blake a chance to leave as Chelsea asks Nick about the best wishes basket sent to Tiffany Stratton while she’s recovering. The two talk about her dealings with Judgment Day on Monday, and that Roxanne Perez has an upcoming shot at the WWE Women’s Championship…which has an approaching Nikki Bella riled up. She runs down the champ before walking off, and SmackDown rolls on.
Video: Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton
We take a look back at what happened between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes last week, reminded that they will go face-to-face later tonight.
Paige vs. Nikki Bella
YOU CAN’T SEE ME! 👋 https://t.co/Xgu0OSFcqg
— WWE (@WWE) October 17, 2026
Nikki charges at Paige with a few shots before sending her to the outside. She continues the damage by sending Paige into the barricade, but Paige pays her back in kind by sending the WWE Hall of Famer into the opposite barricade before bringing Nikki back into the ring.
Nikki leaves the ring to get away, but not for long before Paige brings her back. Nikki sends her to the outside but gets caught in the ring apron before Paige lands some shots on her. She brings Bella back into the ring, propping her on the ropes for some knee strikes…but Nikki catches her on the middle rope before sending her to the floor as we go to break!
Nikki has Paige back in the ring, but Paige turns things around with a fisherman suplex and a neckbreaker. Bella blocks a Paige Turner but gets dropped with a belly to back suplex. Paige calls back to an old flame of Nikki’s looking for a Five Knuckle Shuffle…but Nikki counters into an STF! Paige crawls to the ropes to force a break. She hoists up Nikki on her shoulders for an Attitude Adjustment, but it only gets a two count.
Nikki fights out of a suplex for a clothesline before landing a hard forearm that sends Paige to the mat for a nearfall of her own. She mocks the crowd (with what looks like a nod to the “New Day Rocks” clap??) before bringing Paige to her feet…and Paige rolls her up, a foot on the rope for leverage to pick up the win!
Winner: Paige via Pinfall.
Paige leaves the ring to celebrate
Backstage: R-Truth
We head backstage to hear from R-Truth. He addresses the fact that Damian Priest used to be his friend, roughly quoting the Golden Girls theme to get his point across before telling Priest his a– will be Truth’s tonight. He walks off, and that match is coming up next.
Video: Men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match Replay
We take a look back at the men’s Money in the Bank match that Penta won.
Backstage: Kevin Owens, Nick Aldis, CM Punk
"Put me in the ring with this piece of garbage!" C’MON ALDIS MAKE IT HAPPEN! 🙏 https://t.co/o4Kw1gxsMW
— WWE (@WWE) October 17, 2026
From there we go to the trainer’s room, where Kevin Owens is checked on before Nick Aldis approaches him to see how he’s doing. Kevin admits he’s banged up but his neck is good, and despite not winning the briefcase he’s happy that at least CM Punk didn’t win it. Seems he said that knowing who just stepped into the room, as in comes Punk to confront the man he’s had his share of issues with recently.
They start getting into it before Aldis cuts them off, addressing trying to get a match going. Owens is up for it and Nick is happy to hear it, but he needs them to keep that energy in the ring, and stay out of each other’s way. Owens says to tell Punk that since he’s following Kevin around, walking off…and throwing a crumpled paper towel in the direction of Aldis and Punk. With that, SmackDown rolls on.
R-Truth vs. Damian Priest
R-Truth makes his entrance at ringside as we take a look back at Damian Priest turning on his former tag partner last month. This is followed by a look at Priest attacking Fraxiom only for Truth to get his hands on him backstage last week, as Priest makes his way to the ring…where Truth cuts him off with a shoulder tackle knocking him to the floor!
Truth stays in the ring to allow Priest to get in the ring as we get this match underway!
Truth gets one extra shot in on Priest, who takes Truth to the mat before sending him to the corner. Corner splash by Priest, followed by a Falcon Arrow for two. Truth crawls to the ropes but gets cut off by Damian, who drives his knee to the back for extra damage. Truth starts to fight back but is taken down with a snapmare by Priest, who drives his knee into the back again.
Truth gets to his feet but is sent to the ropes, where he lands a kick to a bent-over Damian. He sees a chance to honor his “childhood hero” John Cena but gets knocked to the mat instead. Truth gets to the corner, where he dodges Priest with the splits before climbing up top for a missile dropkick sending Priest across the ring with a rough landing for Truth himself.
Priest is back on his feet as the ref checks on Truth. There’s very little response from Truth which forces the ref to call for the bell, awarding the match to Priest via ref stoppage.
Winner: Damian Priest via Referee Stoppage.
Damian is not happy to accept this at first, leaving the ring to grab a steel chair but the ref keeps him back
Video: Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton
We go to a video looking back at the issues between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. They will go face-to-face later tonight, but right now it’s time for a commercial break.
Video: Danhausen, Gunther, Finn Balor
LET DANHAUSEN LIVE UNTIL (AT LEAST) HALLOWEEN, GUNTHER!!! ✋ https://t.co/WP1y3meGdd
— WWE (@WWE) October 17, 2026
We take a look back at last week with Danhausen getting destroyed by Gunther until Finn Balor got involved, leading to a fight between them that left the match unresolved.
Backstage: Gunther, Danhausen
Backstage at the office of Nick Aldis, where Gunther has some harsh words for the GM apparently sitting at his chair. Unfortunately for Gunther the man in the chair is actually Danhausen, who talks about detecting evil in Finn Balor and needing his help. Gunther continues to have it out for ol’ ‘hausen, looking to make his life miserable before he goes to host NXT Halloween Havoc. SmackDown rolls on.
In-Ring: Alexa Bliss, Tatum Paxley, Fatal Influence
Fatal Influence really thought… THE WOMEN’S TAG CHAMPS STAY ON TOP! 😤 https://t.co/H51n1uEgfv
— WWE (@WWE) October 17, 2026
We head to ringside, where Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley make their way out as the new Women’s Tag Team Champions. They both have mics as they address the injured Charlotte Flair setting aside her shot at the title for the sake of friendship. Pop for the new champs as Tatum promises a special gift for Flair when she’s healed up. She whispers what this is to the ear of Bliss before Fatal Influence interrupts.
They run down the new champs with a particular focus on Paxley amid boos from the crowd, before making their way to the ring to attack…but manage to get fended off by the champs before they leave holding their titles up high to a pop from the crowd.
Backstage: Rey Fenix, Sami Zayn
Hey Sami, how’s that target feel on your back? 🎯 https://t.co/xmXK4bkwp3
— WWE (@WWE) October 17, 2026
Backstage, we hear from Rey Fenix ahead of his AAA Cruiserweight Championship match later. He talks about being excited for the match and starts to give his congrats to his brother Penta on winning Money in the Bank…only for Sami Zayn to interrupt, giving him some kind words as a fellow world champion before looking to see if Rey has any inside info on Penta’s plans with the briefcase considering the tough loss in Mexico City against Roman Reigns. Fenix thanks Sami but says he has no idea if Penta plans to cash in on Roman or on Sami, telling the WWE Champion good luck and good night before walking off. Rey Fenix defends the AAA Cruiserweight Championship against Ricky Saints next!
Video: Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Randy Orton
We take a look back at SummerSlam as the issues between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton lead to tonight’s face-to-face
Backstage: Fatal Influence, Jade Cargill, B-Fab, Michin
Backstage, Jade Cargill and her Amazing Baddies make fun of Fatal Influence for not taking out the new tag champs leading to words between the trios as SmackDown rolls on.
AAA World Cruiserweight Championship
Ricky Saints vs. Rey Fenix (c)
THEY COULD NEVER MAKE US HATE YOU CHARLES ROBINSON! 🫡 Ricky Saints just got DQ’d for trying to cheat his way to a victory against Rey Fenix https://t.co/WWHnEC7MSL
— WWE (@WWE) October 17, 2026
Saints goes after Fenix, who quickly takes him to the mat with a headscissors before sending the challenger to the apron. Adios Amigo sends Saints to the floor, where the champ drops him down with a dive as we go to picture-in-picture.
Picture-in-Picture: Saints manages to take control as he attacks Rey on his way back in the ring, and sends the champ to the corner for some right hands. Hammer throw across the ring and Fenix fights it out with the challenger on the turnbuckle before knocking him to the canvas. He goes for a senton but gets caught with a powerbomb giving Ricky a two count as we return from break.
Saints continues the damage as he brings Rey to the corner, but the champ fights back. Saints catches him for a Roshambo attempt, but Fenix breaks free and hits the ropes for a cutter! Ricky stops a tiger driver but gets sent to the corner, where Fenix kicks him down for a frog splash for a nearfall.
Ricky fights back once again, bringing Rey to the corner where he attacks the luchador’s mask…only for Fenix to break free, kicking him in the face before going for a Mexican Muscle Buster. Saints breaks free, but gets sent to the mat hard with a hurricanra off the turnbuckle. Up goes the champ, but he gets dropped on his little Animos when Saints shoves the ref into the ropes! Ricky goes for the cover, but the ref flat-out refuses to make the count after Ricky shoved him into the ropes. Saints gets into it with the ref, shoving him again…and this is enough for the ref to call for the bell, awarding Fenix the match via DQ!
Winner: Rey Fenix via Disqualification to retain the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship.
Saints is incensed by this and starts attacking Fenix some more before other officials come down to bring a stop to the affairs.
Video: Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton
We cut to a video looking back at September’s Sunday Night Main Event, where the issues between Orton and Rhodes continue to fester as we get ready for a face-to-face tonight.
Backstage: Cody Rhodes, Nick Aldis
Backstage, Cody Rhodes is approached by Nick Aldis. Cody asks the GM to tell him Randy’s in the ring. Aldis says he hasn’t seen Orton, but Cody says he’ll understand Nick did all he could…so he’s just gonna go out there and do what he needs to do. Rhodes walks off, and we go to commercial break.
In-Ring: Cody Rhodes, Baron Corbin
You picked a bad night to come out here and mess with Cody Rhodes, Baron Corbin… YOU JUST GOT YOURSELF A MATCH! 👊 https://t.co/FMemqba2zb
— WWE (@WWE) October 17, 2026
We head to ringside as Cody Rhodes makes his entrance, looking rather determined as he grabs a steel chair from ringside along with a mic before stepping into the ring. He makes the mic peak its audio levels as he tells Sacramento they were promised a face-to-face, he was promised a face-to-face, and he plans to wait here until Randy Orton comes out here for a face-to-face.
No sign of Orton as instead, the music of Baron Corbin(???) hits as the former United States Champion makes his way down the ramp with a mic in hand. He starts running Cody down saying he’s said before Cody just doesn’t have it. He enters the ring as he talks about not caring about friends and how Cody cares too much about such things. He’s gonna get back where he belongs, and it will be at Cody’s expense.
Cody starts to say he doesn’t have patience for Corbin, but Baron attacks the former WWE Champion…who responds with some shots of his own forcing Corbin to the outside. Cody says there’s time on the clock, so let’s get a referee out here for a match right now!
Out comes a referee for what appears to be an impromptu main event as we go to commercial break.
Cody Rhodes vs. Baron Corbin
CODY RHODES JUST HIT BARON CORBIN WITH THE PUNT RIGHT IN FRONT OF RANDY ORTON!!! That was almost you, Randy. 👀 https://t.co/OchqPW9SaV
— WWE (@WWE) October 17, 2026
Sure enough, this match is underway!
The two fight out of the ring and then back in, where Corbin takes control. He mocks the crowd before going back to work on Rhodes with a right hand and a boot to the head. He sends Cody to the corner once and then twice, but the second time leads to Cody getting out of the way as Corbin goes shoulder first into the ring post in the corner. This allows Rhodes to take Baron to the mat, before both men fight to their feet. Cody fights out of the corner for a power slam sending Corbin down hard.
He tears his shirt before unleashing a Bionic Elbow on Corbin followed by the Disaster Kick…but before he can do anything else, Orton pulls him out of the ring to attack him and the ref calls for the bell!
Winner: Cody Rhodes via Disqualification.
Orton continues the attack on Cody, sending him into the announce table and then the ring post. He brings Cody into the ring where he stands over his former pal…and then goes to the corner, looking for a punt. Cody dodges it, hitting the ropes for a Cody Cutter instead! Now it’s Rhodes standing tall as he heads to the corner for a punt…but Baron Corbin intercepts him as Orton leaves the ring. He retreats up the ramp as Corbin looks for an End of Days…but Rhodes gets out of it and heads up top for a Super Cody Cutter!
He tries to goad Orton to get back in the ring, but Randy refuses as Cody considers his next steps. Despite Randy saying he doesn’t have it in him, Cody heads to the corner for a massive punt on the head of Corbin! This leads to a staredown between Orton and Cody as SmackDown comes to a close.
