“Speedball” Mike Bailey on Origins Of His ‘Feud’ With MVP In AEW

As noted before, MVP had been rumored in August of 2025 to have backstage heat with “Speedball” Mike Bailey in AEW over unknown reasons. MVP and Bailey had responded afterwards in a friendly joking manner about their rumored backstage issues implying that the rumors were not true. MVP denied the rumors being true and stated that Bailey was one of the nicest guys in AEW in an episode of his Marking Out with MVP and Dwayne Swayze podcast in October of 2025.

A recent episode of the Casual Conversations with The Classic podcast featured Bailey as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Bailey’s thoughts about the origin of the rumors of his backstage “feud” with MVP.

“It started with a story that we both saw online, and we’re both like, ‘What the f**k is this?’

It’s the most ridiculous premise on earth, right. These two pro wrestlers who are battling in the ring. Kevin Knight and I literally had a match with them at All In for the AEW World Tag Team Championships, and people are like, ‘Oh, I’m hearing rumors that these two don’t like each other.’ And it’s like, ‘What do you make of that?’

The story had just gotten a lot of traction because there are some circles online who revel in that kind of stuff. And we’re like, ‘Well, we should address it. We should do something about it.’”
