In-Ring: Tony D’Angelo, Grayson Waller

The second round of the Dusty Cup is upon us and I could not be more stoked to see Galeno and El Hijo de Dr Wagner Jr tear it up as well as the meeting of meat in the Hank/Tank vs Creed/Brothers. But to kick things off:

Tony D’Angelo.

The #1 Contender to Grayson Waller’s NXT Title walked to the ring and wrapped his clammy fingers around a mic. Tony wasted no time in calling Waller to the ring LIKE A MAN. Waller arrived already holding a mic and said that he always knew that it was going to end up him vs D’Angelo.

D’Angelo said that if it had been one-on-one at Heatwave, Waller wouldn’t have won. Waller said “yeah? So?” and then said that D’Angelo was at the top of his list of people to conquer. D’Angelo said that Waller never liked him and only cared about viral moments. Waller said that he resented D’Angelo and he’s always over shadowed him because D’Angelo was “chosen.”

D’Angelo said that Waller is a hypocrite. He’s still hiding behind memes because he’s desperate for attention. Waller said that it’s called having a personality and D’Angelo left his in his fedora.

They talked a lot about the War Games match from five years ago and how they were teammates. To be honest this was a very strange promo. At times it seemed like they were cutting two separate promos without really listening to what the other was saying.

Anyway, D’Angelo said that his NXT legacy is secure and he’s going to drag Waller through hell at Halloween Havoc. Then, just as abruptly asit started, it was over.

Video: Izzi Dame, Layla Diggs

Then, Footage from earlier in the day from the NXT Women’s Locker Room Playset was shown. Izzi Dame and Layla Diggs argued about who doesn’t like Zaria more and they decided to have a match about it.

NXT Parking Lot: BirthRight

Then Ariana Grace interrupted Vic Joseph from outside (?) and we had a brief promo from Lexis King and Charley Dempsey
about how Birthright is going to win the Dusty Classic.

Video: Chantel Monroe

Back from break a vignette for Chantel Monroe aired. She is “pure entertainment and loves attention.”

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic 2026 Tournament Quarterfinal Round Match
The Wagner Brothers (Galeno & El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr.) vs. BirthRight (Charlie Dempsey & Lexis King)

Brothers El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. & Galeno got a bye into the second round of the tournament because they are the current AAA Tag Team Champions. Birthright were eliminated by Mini Vikingo and Chazz Hall, but Robert Stone decided to let them back into the tournament because William Regal told him to. I know I rag on Stone a lot, but in his defence I would do pretty much anything William Regal asked me to as well.

Dempsey and Wagner started things off with a fun technical exchange that gave Dempsey a chance to lock a headscissor on Wagner. “El Hilio” (Thanks, Vic) got out of it though and wen for a single leg takedown but Dempsey fought him off. Wagner got him with an arm drag though and went for a hold, but Dempsey kicked him into the corner where Galeno tagged in.

King tagged in from the other side and tried to take down the massive Galeo with some chops. Galeno laid out King and threw his brother onto him while simultaneously tagging him in. They double teamed King with Galeno throwing a senton and King escaped to the outside. Galeno threw Dempsey out too and went for a dive, but Grace got in the way and stopped them. So, Wagner just leapt over his brother and Grace and took out all of Birthright.

Now legal, Wager hit a back breaker on King who tagged in Dempsey. Dempsey threw Wagner into the ropes throat first then sent him to the Bithright corner for a some double teaming before suplexing Wagner for a two count. King tagged in and Wagner hit him with an elbow. King hung Wagner up on the ropes where Connors hit him with a cheap shot.

King threw strikes at Wagner in the corner and then put him in an armbreaker. Wagner got to his feet and King sent him back to the mat with some stomps. Dempsey joined him and they stomped him in the corner. Dempsey started throwing uppercuts and got a triangle choke on. Dempsey worked him over into an arm bar, but Wagner got a foot on the ropes to break it.

Dempesy put a headlock on Wagner who powered out of it and started throwing elbows. Demsey fired back, but Wagner hit him with a belly to back suplex. They both reached for tags and King and Galeno (or “gel-anno,” Thanks Booker) went at it with King getting slammed by Galeno followed by a big splash.

Wagner tagged back in and Galeno assisted in a missile dropkick on King. Wagner went for the cover, but Dempsey broke it up. Dempsey tagged in and everyone started to brawl. Suplexes, clothelines and such were spammed and when the dist settled, Wagner and Dempsey were legal in the ring.

Wagner went up top and hit a splash, but King (who had tagged in) got his knees up. Then Zilla Fatu showed up and took out Connors. Wagner suplexed King then hit him with a Michinoku driver before tagging Galeno who hit a frog splash on King and got the pin to advance them to the Semi Finals.

Winner: The Wagner Brothers via Pinfall.

After the match, Fatu took out King and Connors then went to hit a Triple Z on Dempsey. Dempsey kicked Fatu’s hand away and so Fatu hit him with a pop-up samoan drop instead.

Backstage: DarkState

Backstage, DarkState were watching Cruz Montana cut a promo on their phone. Cutler said that Dion is being insane even for his standards. Lennox said that you can’t think small with a guy like Montana and there are going to be casualties. He’s got a plan though, so they all left to talk about it.

Video: Kam Hendrix

Back from break, the NXT Spotlight was shone on Kam Hendrix. Hendrix impressed us all by catching footballs that were thrown from 10 feet away. Then he put a shirt over his head and did it again. That makes him “the future” according to Hendrix.

In-Ring: Tavion Heights, Myles Borne

After that, Promo Class continuted and it was Tavion Heights’ turn to talk. Heights returned last week to cost his former best friend Myles Borne the chance to be #1 Contender by cosplaying as a camera man.

Heights said that he couldn’t believe that Borne stabbed him in the back at Heatwave. Borne stabbed him in the back at Heatwave. Borne stabbed him in the back at Heatwave.

Heights said that he did what he did last week because Borne isn’t who he says he is. He’s a backstabbing bum-ass bitch. Then Borne attacked Heights from behind and the brawled into the backstage area into the deadly NXT Parking Lot Playset where Security pulled them apart.

Backstage: The Vanity Project, Chantel Monroe, Robert Stone

Then Vanity Project was walking to the Robert Stone’s Office Playselt when Chantel Monroe approached them. The blew her off and entered the office so that Stone could ask them about making fun of Mini Vikingo and Hall. Apparently, Vikingo isn’t cleared to wrestle tonight so the planned six-man match is off. Stone said that next week Jackson Drake will defend his North American title against EK Prosper instead.

Izzi Dame vs. Layla Diggs

This match was made earlier in the day when Diggs and Dame had a disagreement in the Women’s Locker Room Playset. Also, Shawn Spears didn’t show up for a match almost two months ago and hasn’t been heard from or mentioned since. I just like to bring that up every now and again. Also, I think that Dame is the only member of the Culling left and still comes out to the same intro.

Off of the opening lock up, Dame knocked Diggs to the mat and then grabbed a headlock. Diggs cartwheeled out of it and they traded wristlocks. Dame then sent Diggs into the turnbuckles shoulder first (Diggs is just back from a shoulder injury). Diggs battled back and sent Dame to the mat with a shoulder.

Diggs matrix’ed out of a big boot, but Dame caught her on the next one. Dame charged and Diggs pulled down the rope, sending Dame to the outside. Diggs went to dive on her but Dame cut hr off with a forearm. Diggs hit Dame with a kick and sent her back into the ring for a power slam and a standing moonsault for two.

Dame came back with a backbreaker and went back to working the shoulder of Diggs. Dame hit her with a clothesline for two. Dame slapped on a facelock, but Diggs powered out of it. Dame went for a clothesline, but Diggs dodged it and knocked her to the mat.

Diggs took Dame down with a spin kick and then a high knee in the corner. Diggs hit a facebuster and went up top. She hit a frogsplash, but Dame kicked out at two. Dame came back with a crucifix bomb, but Diggs only gave her two.

They traded punches in the middle of the ring until Dame got in an inverted backbreaker and a slam for a two count. Dame went for a powerbomb, but Diggs countered it. Dame countered that with a big boot and went up top. She came off the turnbuckle right into a kick. Diggs went up top and tried a Cherry on Top, but Dame moved and hit her in the face with a running knee to pick up the win.

Winner: Izzi Dame via Pinfall.

After the match, Zaria came out with a Mic to tell us that “this has gone on long enough!” She’s had it up to here with Dame pulling out all these high school photos of her. Zaria said that this isn’t the way to get a North American Title Shot. Zaria then gave Dame a North American Title Shot. Dame said that she didn’t need the title, but accepted the match and left.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic 2026 Tournament Quarterfinal Round Match
Hank & Tank (Hank Walker & Tank Ledger) vs. The Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus Creed)

Hank and Tank defeated the surprisingly good Shido Ash and Viktor Zanov to advance to these quarterfinals and the Creeds beat Harley Riggins and Jax Presley in pursuit of their second Dusty Cup win. Also these are four very big guys that move very fast, so this should be fun!

Tank and Julius started things off, working each other into a stale mate of go behinds. Julius sent Tank into the corner and Brutus came in for a fallaway codebreaker. Hank caught a blind tag and beat down Brutus. Hank and tag worked Brutus over with some quick tags. Brutus reversed a whip though and dropped Hank on his head for two.

Hank found himself isolated in the Creed Corner (FYI that was the name of my Creed Fanzine in high school) but mamanged to work out of it and get a tag to Tank. Tank worked Brutus’ arm, even headbutting his hand at one point. Brutus clocked him and tagged in Julius who scoop slammed Tank for two.

Hank grabbed a tag and mowed down Julius, driving him to the mat in a tackle. Julius then used a gutwrench on Brutus to drop him onto Hank. Julius hit a scoop slam but missed on an elbow. He clotheslined Hank and then Brutus tagged in for a two count. Hank and Brutus collided and Hank got a tag to Tank who splashed Brutus.

Julisu tagged in and Tank went up top. Julius knocked the ropes to send him tumbling into the ring. Brutus tagged back in and dropped Tank over his knee belly-first. Julius tagged in and hit a gutbuster while a graphic threatened us with a Wren Sinclair/Kelani Jordan contract signing.

Julius threw Tank with another gutwrench and then cut him off from tagging Hank. Julius sent both Hank and Tank to the outside and then brought Tank back in for some stiff forearms. He missed the last one letting Tank get the tag to Hank and Hank sent Julius to the ropes for a hip attack and then clotheslined Brutus off the apron.

Hank hit Julius with a crossbody and then ran into Brutus on theoutside. He hit a bossman slam on Julisus in the ring and Tank tagged in. They went to “honk honk” but Brutus pulled Hank out of the ring. Tank took him out and then Hank hit a Julius with a slam behind the ref’s back. Tank made the pin and that was it. Hank and Tank move on.

Winner: Hank & Tank via Pinfall.

Backstage: BirthRight, Robert Stone, Wren Sinclair, Kendal Grey, Chantel Monroe

In the NXT Warehouse Playset, Birthright were yelling at Robert Stone about Zilla Fatu. Stone was like “Yeah, that sucks.” Then before that could be, well, anything, Wren Sinclair and Kendal Grey walked by and Wren said that she had to go sign her contract. Then Chantel Monroe came up to them and they condescendingly Mean Girl’ed her and she left. Sinclair then went towards the ring with Grey telling her “she’s got this.” About a contract signing.

In-Ring: Wren Sinclair, Kelani Jordan

Back from break, Wren Sinclair came down to the ring. Sinclair became #1 Contender to Kelani Jordan’s NXT Women’s Title at Halloween Havoc after she won a battle royal that she wasn’t in while being suspended. Now, they must do the most important thing in wrestling: paperwork. Follow along if you will:

Sinclair said that Jordan needs to come out and sign the contract. Jordan interrupted her (of course) and said she brought her a gift. With that she dragged a beaten Kendal Grey out and that was it.

Backstage: Zilla Fatu, Robert Stone

In the Robert Stone’s Office Playset, Zilla Fatu was trying to convince Stone to let him fight Charlie Dempsey. He even suggest bringing back the Halloween Havoc Wheel. Then he said hello and it was over.

Backstage: Sean Legacy, Romeo Moreno, Noam Dar, Chazz “Starboy” Hall, EK Prosper, Saquon Shugars

In the NXT Mens Locker Room Playset, everyone was talking about EK Prosper’s match next week when Saquon Shugars started watching NXT on his iPad at a high volume. Sean Legacy said that Shugars has so much talent he’s wasting. Shugars told him to stop talking out of the side of his mouth and it was over.

Backstage: Cruz Montana, DarkState

Then Emily Agard was outside of Cruz Montana’s locker room when Osiris Griffin and James Cutler casually walked past her, entered the room and started beating Montana up, which I guess was what “the plan” was. The rest of the locker room who I assume were just walking down the hall and overheard the commotion, pulled them apart.

Video: Naraku

Back from break (brought to you by Hellraiser: Revival) Naraku appeared via taped promo to warn Shiloh Hill that the Red Mist, The Green Mist, The Orange Mist, The Blue Mist have all been used, but there is one more color that’s way more dangerous. The Black Mist. He then suggested that the Black Mist will kill Shiloh Hill.

Backstage: Shiloh Hill, Lizzy Rain, Chantel Monroe

In the NXT Lounge Playset, Izzy Rain talked to Shiloh Hill about the Black Mist when Chantel Monroe walked in. Hill left to go “back to the lab” and Rain yelled at Monroe for being annoying. She challenged her to a match next week for no reason, so I guess that’s happening.

Next Week’s Show Card Rundown

Next week:

-The Semi-Finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic: The Wagner Brothers vs Hank & Tank and Vanity Project vs Romeo Moreno & Noam Dar

-EK Prosper vs Jackson Drake for Drake’s NXT North American Title

-Chantel Monroe vs Izzy Rain because Monroe is “annoying.”

Dion Lennox vs. Cruz Montana

Let me lay this one out for you: Dion Lennox had a great mom who supported him in all of his success. Cruz Montana had a mom who allegedly sold drugs to feed her family. This means Lennox looks down on Montana’s “struggle” which is about the worst thing one can do to Cruz Montana. Then, Griffin and Cutler beat up Montana in his locker room. He’s perfectly fine though, so now, they fight.

Lennox and Cruz threw hands right off the bell. Cruz sent Lennox into the corner and clotheslined him. Lennox came back with a big right hand and suplexed Cruz for a two count. Lennox hit Cruz with a spinebuster off the ropes for another two. Then Cruz came back with one of his own. He sent Lennox to the corner for some loud chops.

Lenox got a big boot up, but Cruz countered it and hit him with a senton before tossing him into the corner for a cannonball. He followed that up with a sit out powerbomb, but Lennox kicked out at two.

Lennox went to the outside and Cruz followed. Lennox threw him face first into the steel steps and peeled back some of the floor padding. He went to slam him on the concrete, but Cruz shoved Lennox into the ringpost instead. They climbed back into the ring and Crus kicked Lennox in the gut. Lennox came back with some shots and then a bridging suplex for a two count.

Lennox clubbed Cruz with forearms while the crowd lovingly told him that he sucks. Lennox went for a back body drop, but Cruz kicked him in the face and hit him with a springboard crossbody. Lennox came back with an elbow and a splash (two bits). Lenox pulled Cruz up by his ponytail and put him in a headlock.

Cruz powered out of it, but Lennox hit him with a Book End and went right back to the headlock. Cruz punched his way out and then hit Lennox with a vicious superkick. Cruz sent Lenox off the ropes for a clothesline and then an insiguri. Cruz hit him with a rolling stunner for two more.

Lennox came back with a lariat and then a sit out slam of some kind. Lennox then started talking smack about Cruz’ mother again. He also said that Cruz’ daughter is going to see Lennox make her Daddy his bitch. That drove Cruz mad and he threw Lennox onto the announce table and peppered him with punches. He then speared Lennox through the LED board and the Ref called the match off.

Winner: None.

After the match, Cruz kept up the beat down until Security arrived to give us our third PAB of the night. Lennox said that Cruz was still his bitch and so Cruz slammed him on the exposed concrete. Cruz then curb stomped Lennox into the concrete and picked up the steel steps. He lifted them high and then brought them down, but Cutler James threw himself on top of Lennox and took the stair shot. Then what appeared to be Police showed up and brought Cruz down, putting his hands behind his back.
