— Former WWE Champion Bob Backlund turns 62 years old today while “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton turns 53.

— As noted before, former WWE Tough Enough competitor AJ Kirsch lost to Brodus Clay on this past Thursday’s WWE Superstars. Apparently the match was a WWE tryout match for Kirsch.

— Greg sent word that AJ Lee beat Natalya in a match at yesterday’s WWE SummerSlam Axxess.

— Alberto Del Rio did a short interview with The Orlando Sentinel this weekend to promote SummerSlam. Here are a few highlights:

Cashing in his briefcase at SummerSlam:
“‘SummerSlam’ is the biggest party of the summer… I’ll wait until the end of the night to see who the champion is going to be. It will be a surprise. I think it is my moment. I think I am going to try.”

Losing his mask when he came to WWE:
“It’s better that way. People can see the emotions, they can see what we are feeling in the moment. I really want people to feel what is going on in the ring … Yes, the drama.”
