Last night’s edition of WWE Monday Night raw scored a 3.5 cable rating, off of hours of 3.3 and 3.7. This is up from last week’s 3.2 rating.
The following statement is WWE’s official statement, regarding the film The Wrestler: “While ‘The Wrestler’ is a very engaging movie, it portrays how wrestling was conducted in some independent wrestling circuits, unlike WWE, which is a global brand with millions of fans.”
On WWE.com, under the “WWE’s Misfit Toys” section, takes a shot at Mickey Rourke, the star of The Wrestler with the following : “Don’t have the heart to tell your girl her skin looks more leathery than Mickey Rourke’s? Screw it son. Crack open two cans of moisturizer, and toast them sombitches right in her face!”
As reported yesterday, Vince McMahon was not pleased with the film.
