Following weeks of anticipation, Brodus Clay made his RAW SuperShow debut Monday night against Curt Hawkins. Accompanied by two dancers, “The Funkasaurus” danced his way to the ring and squashed a confused Hawkins.
As noted earlier here on the website, the two dancers flanked by Clay were WWE developmental wrestlers Cameron Lynn and Naomi. Naomi finished second in the third season of NXT while Lynn, whose real name is Ariane Andrew, was the first contestant cut on last year’s Tough Enough series. Both performers appear for Florida Championship Wrestling.
The term “Brodus” immediately trended worldwide on Twitter following Clay’s debut.
Also, the theme song Clay danced to for his RAW SuperShow debut was previously used by former WWE star Ernest “The Cat” Miller, who also portrayed an animated character. Miller’s run was short-lived as he was released three months after his November 2003 debut.
