As noted earlier, Austin was in town for some of the SummerSlam AXXESS festivities so there were unconfirmed rumors that he’d be appearing.
— On the WWE SummerSlam pre-show, Antonio Cesaro defeated Santino Marella to become the new WWE United States Champion. That ended Santino’s reign at 167 days. We exclusively reported last week that Santino would be losing the title. We’ll have more on this shortly.
