Big Free WEC Show Live Tonight, Barnett To Wrestle, More

REMINDER: There is a free WEC (MMA) show tonight on the Versus Network. WEC is the ‘developmental’ territory of UFC. These fights are usually nasty good and it’s a live show. The main event tonight features Miguel Torres vs. Brian Bowles. The show airs live from 9-11EST and is definitely worth checking out if you’re an MMA fan.

With his MMA career in limbo at the moment following a positive drug test for anabolic steroids, Josh Barnett will turn to pro wrestling and will wrestle at an IGF (Inoki Genome Federation) event tonight in Japan. Barnett was scheduled to face Fedor Emelianenko at Affliction’s third PPV event in Anaheim, CA, but the event was later cancelled when Barnett tested positive for steroids. The Affliction promotion itself ended up folding after only two events and worked out a new sponsorship deal with UFC instead.
