— It was announced by Karl Lauer of the Cauliflower Alley Club that Gladys “Kill ’em” Gillem, a pioneer in women’s wrestling passed away yesterday at the age of 88. Lauer made the following comments on Gillem: “To those of you attended any of the CAC banquets in Studio City in the 70.s 80,s or 90,s will remember the rough and tough lady known as Killem Gillem, or to her friends Gladys Gillem, one of the pioneer lady wrestlers from the 40’s and 50’s who could whip 90% of the men in a shoot, has died. Gladys passed away yesterday in her late 80.s not sure how old but one of the most colorful characters in the business ever.”
— Slam! Wrestling has reported that Karl Von Hess passed away earlier this week at the age of 90 following a bout with alzheimers.
