Christy Hemme made her much anticipated return to the six-sided ring on last night’s episode of iMPACT!, defeating Sojo Bolt. The 2004 WWE Diva Search winner had been out of action since January when it was reported that she had sustained a neck injury while training in the ring with AJ Styles for an upcoming pay-per-view encounter with Awesome Kong. She actually did not have surgery to repair her injured neck, instead opting for neuro cranial realignment. There was fear that she would never be able to wrestle again, but those fears turned out to be unfounded as she was cleared to return to the ring shortly before last month’s pay-per-view. In case you missed it, TNAWrestling.com has posted video of the conclusion of match with Bolt.
Awesome Kong will be going up against Sumie Sakai at an independent show in Daytona Beach on Saturday, August 22nd. In an interview with Jeff Wilen of The Daytona Beach News-Journal, Pro Wrestling Fusion owner Joey Cabibbo said he plans on holding a more risqué show on September 5th after seeing what kind of crowd he’s dealing with for the August 22nd show. He said he’s not opposed to holding a hardcore match or bikini match. Wilen asks Cabibbo if he might have Awesome Kong in a bikini, to which he jokingly responds that he’d have to double her take-home pay.
