WWE continues their build towards Hell in a Cell with RAW at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York tonight. The only things advertised are John Cena making an announcement about his recovery from elbow surgery and when he will return as well as a “live” interview with Jerry Lawler. Jim Ross and Michael Cole will interview Lawler via satellite from his home in Memphis, TN.
The John Cena announcement will likely play into who will be CM Punk’s next challenger. The plan was for Punk to defend against John Cena after their draw at Night of Champions. Another possible choice is The Big Show, who has been out of action since SummerSlam and replaced Cena on house shows over the weekend.
As noted above, there will be an interview with Jerry “The King” Lawler for an update on his recovery after an on-air heart attack two weeks ago. Jim Ross will fill-in to broadcast with Michael Cole.
Criss Angel will play the off-camera role of “Social Media Ambassador” on Twitter.
The bonus dark match was supposed to be Punk vs. Cena for the WWE title, but that is likely to change.
