According to an article from The New York Post, reports from a recent study say that WrestleMania 29 could generate well over $100 million for the New York/New Jersey area.
Enigma Research Corporation did the study and found that WrestleMania 28, held in Miami, FL, generated $102.7 million in “direct, indirect and induced impact derived from spending by non-locals visiting specifically for WrestleMania 28.” That number is up over $40 million from the amount generated by the 2010 pay-per-view in Atlanta. John Saboor, Senior Vice President of Special Events for WWE had the following to say…
“We couldn’t be more excited. Wrestlemania has truly become a week-long celebration that is designed on so many levels ways for our host cities and partners, as well as fans to come in early and stay late.
WrestleMania is obviously the cornerstone of the celebration. We expect over 70,000 to attend the event at MetLife Stadium and another 50,000 to take part in the other events during the week.”
