— According to the Hartford Courant, WWE has received approximately $37 million from Connecticut over the last four years in film and tax credits. That number includes $9.8 million in 2009, $7.2 million in 2010, $7.3 million in 2011 and $7.5 million to date this year, as well as an additional $5 million in 2010 for digital upgrades to prep for the WWE Network. The company has applied for Connecticut’s “Next Five” program seeking additional credits.
— Linda McMahon filed a campaign finance report this past week that shows she donated $15 million into her campaign from the period of July to September. Linda received $309,455 in donations from individuals while that her opponent Chris Murphy, raised $2.8 million from outside sources. The disparity is largely because Linda is not accepting money from PACs, while Murphy is.
The finance filings show that McMahon has spent $27 million on the Senate race this year and $77 million total between her two races. Murphy has spent $6.2 million so far. [Credit: Hartford Courant]
