Dark Match:
1. Sheamus defeated Jamie Noble. Sheamus cut a pre-match promo about being ECW’s top superstar and then challenged any Raw star to a match. I can’t say I even remembered Noble was on Raw. Basically a quick squash with Sheamus going over with his uranage-backbreaker.
Superstars taping:
Michael Cole was introduced to significant heat, while Jerry Lawler came out to a big pop. Lilian Garcia then comes out to a nice ovation.
The pyro scared the bejesus out of everybody.
1. ECW Champion Christian defeated William Regal to retain the ECW Title. Regal got some nice heat with a smattering of a “first star of the night” pop. Christian got a massive pop. Slow work to start, which generated a “Regal sucks” chant. Regal controled with rest holds attempting to get the crowd into the babyface comeback. Christian hit a nice top-rope sunset flip, but Regal regained control and hits an exploder. Christian got a two with a missile dropkick and then missed with a Benoit headbutt. Christian attempted the Killswitch, which Regal reversed into a Morishima-esque backdrop driver. Christian eventually regained control and hit an awful-looking Killswitch for three.
2. “The Masterpiece” Chris Masters d. Santino Marella by submission. Huge pop for Santino and an immediate “Santino” chant. Some quick comedy to start, but Masters hit a stalling vertical suplex after Santino couldn’t get him up for a bodyslam. Masters locked in a bearhug and the crowd rallied behind the local boy.
After seemingly breaking it, Masters reapplied the hold. Santino began his Hulk up routine. Marella applied a Masterlock on Masters, to which Chris broke free of quickly and applied the hold himself. The crowd was hugely into Santino, but he tapped out.
