At this time, it is currently costing TNA approximately $600,000 per taping to film iMPACT! Wrestling on the road. Due to these costs, this is the primary reason why TNA is facing some financial problems right now and why the promotion has been cutting costs.
In a recent interview, TNA President Dixie Carter noted that if TNA had taken iMPACT! on the road in earlier years it could have risked the future of the company and they likely would have been out of business by now. Unfortunately the decision to take the show on the road has not paid off in revenue or ratings.
The promotion has a commitment to tape on the road, and even if the company were to decide to return to taping the show in Orlando, FL, the Impact Zone is unavailable right now. Universal Studios currently has a new tenant in the former Impact Zone.
