More On WWE’s Next NBC Special + WWE/Doritos, More

— WWE will be airing another annual NBC special on 8/3 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern (8:00 CT) this year. The special will focus on WrestleMania 29 and feature highlights of the rematch between The Rock and John Cena. The show last year highlighting WrestleMania 28 drew 2.72 million viewers, down from the special in 2011 that drew 3.64 million viewers.

— Variety.com is featuring a lengthy article on Dorritos partnering with WWE as a sponsor for SummerSlam. The article notes that reps for Dorritos were impressed with WWE and John Cena after a presentation at the South by Southwest festival this past March.

— Comic Book Resources has confirmed that Papercutz has signed an exclusive deal with WWE to produce two WWE-themed comic book series. The first title will be released in December and will be written by WWE Hall of Famer and New York Times best selling author Mick Foley based off current WWE storylines. The second series is scheduled to be released in June 2014 with a kids theme.
