Adam Graham of The Detroit News is featuring an interview with current WWE Champion Randy Orton discussing his new prominent role on WWE television and John Cena’s injury.
On becoming WWE Champion again and being part of a big storyline:
“It feels really good. I’m glad I can get another shot. Not to harp on the past or anything, but I’ve made a few bad decisions here and there, and this is my chance to prove not only to the fans but to the company that I can carry the ball and represent the company.”
On if John Cena’s injury opened up this new opportunity with WWE:
“I’m not saying that’s the sole reason, but it doesn’t hurt. They needed somebody, and they looked around and they go, ‘There’s our guy!’ It’s not like I said, ‘Hey guys, I got an idea.'”
