Backstage Update: TNA Trying To Save Money?, + More

— Davey Richards defeated Robbie E in a match for TNA Xplosion at the second set of TNA iMPACT! tapings on Friday night.

— As noted earlier here on the website, Christopher Daniels’ TNA contract expires in April while Frankie Kazarian’s contract expires some time after that. We don’t believe it’s in April though. It should be noted that both TNA talents are booked for several WrestleMania 30 week indy events and not TNA’s live events in Georgia. The two were also not booked for this week’s iMPACT! TV tapings.

In an update on this, Austin Aries was also not brought in for the TNA iMPACT! tapings this week and the rumored reason for that is because the company may be trying to save money. There are also rumors that TNA was trying to use this set of TV tapings to showcase some of their newer talents who are working for much cheaper. Kenny King, Angelina Love, Tigre Uno, Sanada, Brittany and Willow (Jeff Hardy) were some of the “newer” talents who were used at the TV tapings. Of course, Jeff Hardy is the exception to the rule as far as pay is concerned.
