— Luis Alvirde, the man that played Mistico in CMLL and then Sin Cara in WWE, made appearances with AAA on May 17 in Tapachula and May 24 in Tuxtla Gutierrez. He did run-ins on both shows, which was to set up the upcoming Verano de Escandalo show on June 7th. The main event of that show will feature Alvirde teaming with La Parka and Cibernetico facing Perro Aguayo Jr., Parka Negro and Averno.
Alvirde has never worked in AAA, but the feeling is that he will do good business for the promotion because as Mistico he was a huge star for CMLL. AAA brought in Perro Aguayo Jr. and Averno to work with Alvirde as a way to make his transition to AAA an easy one.
Alvirde is expected to use the name El Misterioso while working with AAA. He couldn’t use the Mistico name because CMLL owns the rights to the name. CMLL had a performer working as Mistico, but he was recently injured.
In the past, Alvirde had stated that he could use the Sin Cara name, but AAA feels that the Sin Cara name was damaged and that it would be simply be best for business to give him a new name.
— Andrew Everett, who has reportedly been on AAA’s radar for some time, suffered a knee injury and had to pull out of last weekend’s PWG show. Everett posted the following update on Twitter…
We will not know the full extent of my injury until I can get in for an MRI. We are hoping for the best at this point. Thank you.
