Welcome to TPWW.net for the Thursday edition of the news and rumors. My mind is honestly blank as to what I can use to fill up this intro (If it's blank, how did I type this?) (And that? AND this?), so let's just get on to today's news and rumors.

The tentative main event for the WWF pay per view, King of the Ring on Sunday June 25 will be The Rock and The Undertaker taking on Triple H, Vince McMahon, and Shane McMahon, according to Wade Keller. Also expected for the pay per view, Road Dogg and X-Pac will take on The Dudleys.

On the subject of King of the Ring, the WWF has opened an official website for the pay per view, as they do with all their other monthly PPV extravaganzas. You can check out the site at http://www.kingofthering.com.

Here are the matches you can expect for tonight's WWF Smackdown from Evansville, Indiana. This is a non-spoiler preview, but if you'd still rather not know anything about tonight's broadcast, simply skip ahead to the next paragraph.
- Edge & Christian vs. Eddie Guerrero & Chyna
- Crash Holly vs. Faarooq
- Chris Jericho vs. Hardcore Holly vs. Val Venis
- Matt Hardy vs. Essa Rios
- Too Cool & Dudleys vs. DX & T&A;
- Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle
- Al Snow vs. Bull Buchanan
- The Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon

The XFL is planning to have eight teams by the start of their season, which opens on February 3, 2001. As of now, six of the eight teams have been announced, and are as follows: New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Orlando, and Washington. However, there are rumors that both UPN and NBC, which will air XFL games, have expressed reluctance in going to Washington, according to sportsbusiness.com. There is some thought that the XFL may pull Washington from their list of teams, at least for the first season.

In a very interesting tidbit, this past Tuesday, May 23, Howard Finkle celebrated his 20th anniversary with the WWF. According to WWF.com, Finkle is the WWF's "first employee." Congrats go out to Howard "Harold" Finkle.

In mid-June, the WWF will have a spur of late night television appearances. They are as follows:
- On Friday, June 16, Chyna will be a guest on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on NBC.
- On Wednesday, June 21, The Rock will also be a guest on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
- On Thursday, June 22, The Big Show will be a guest on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, also on NBC.

As you may have already heard, the Big Show is currently featured in Sisqo's "Thong Song Remix," off the Nutty Professor 2 sound track. The music video is currently airing on BET. The Big Show's appearance is only for a few of seconds, however, as he is shown standing next to a car with two women at his side. Thanks to everyone who sent along that tidbit.

Thanks to IWFsGatesOfHell, as well as several others for sending along the following tidbit on Booker T's new name, GI Bro. "This isn't the first time he has wrestled under that name. When he first started wrestling in the Indys his name was G.I. Bro and he wore the army fatigues and everything, which is a perfect angle for him to join the MIA."

There will be a Biography special on Hulk Hogan on A&E; on Tuesday, June 13.

WCW management will meet with Goldberg sometime very soon to discuss a possible return for "Da Man." As of now, the tentative date for Goldberg's return is June 5th, according to Wade Keller. However, he is not expected to get any in-ring action, but will rather make an on air appearance. He is expected to be able to get back in the ring at around late June or early July or so.

There has been a rumor floating around that WCW's Miss Hancock is engaged to WCW's David Flair. Miss Hancock herself shot down this rumor on WCW.com, stating the following: "As I surfed through the wrestling sites on the Internet, I noticed that most of the pages had an untrue rumor posted about me. I would like to clear up the rumor that David Flair and I are engaged to be married. This is FALSE!"

Bret Hart will be a guest on "The Last Word" with Jim Rome on Monday, May 29.

WCW Thunder scored a decent 2.1 rating for last night's broadcast. I say decent, as it was delayed for almost an hour due to racing on TBS. I actually thought Thunder was a decent show last night. I thought the Kevin Nash title change was actually a good one this time. I just hope the title doesn't change hands again on Nitro.

Konnan suffered an injury at this week's Thunder, which was believed to be a torn bicep. However, doctors assured that it wasn't a tear, but he is still expected to undergo an MRI sometime after this week's Nitro. He is still tentatively scheduled to appear on Monday's broadcast.

ECW's Dawn Marie and Simon Diamond are expected to be married sometime this summer or fall, according to Dave Scherer. I wish them all the best. Both are two of the most entertaining superstars in ECW in my opinion.

Here is what you can expect on this week's ECW on TNN, courtesy of 1wrestling.
- Balls Mahoney vs. Masato Tanaka - Thumbtacks involved
- Jerry Lynn vs. Yoshihiro Tajiri
- Appearances by: RVD, Sandman, Rhino, Justin Credible, Francine, Raven, Tommy Dreamer, Simon Diamond, Dawn Marie, and Johnny Swinger.
According to Joey Styles, this was one of the best ECW shows produced thusfar. I know I'll be watching. ECW airs on TNN, Fridays at 8PM.

On a personal note, I FINALLY got hooked up to my DSL service yesterday, and let me be the first to say that it's GREAT. I can download a full MP3 in about one minute or less. If anyone on the East coast uses Bell Atlantic as their phone company, you can check out more info on their DSL service at http://www.bellatlantic.net.

And on another totally unrelated note, if you're a fan of FOX's "Family Guy," the show returns this Tuesday, May 30. Finally. That's definitely one of my favorite shows on TV. Jeez, I'm getting totally off the subject, aren't I?

Now that I'm done talking about myself, I'm going to wrap this report up. Until next time, enjoy Smackdown tonight. See you all later...
