By "The CR" Mike Christopher

In the infamous words of both Scot Hall and Triple A, "Hey yo". It is I, "The CR" Mike Christopher, who will be your party host for this evening. First off, I'd like to apologize on behalf my myself and Triple A for The Peoples' News and Rumors being a little bit late this evening, as Triple A, unfortunately, had to drop the load onto myself at the last minute. Also, I'd like to take this time to publicly thank everyone who sent in praise to my first edition of News and Rumors this past weekend. Unfortunately, this report will be anything but stellar because of both lack of time and energy. None-the-less, it's my duty to update you on all of the happenings of the Professional Wrestling world, so let's get started.

By the time you read this report, WWF RAW is WAR may, in fact, already be underway, or it may already have concluded. However, late or not, I just viewed the Code-Red from WWF.com, which previewed tonight's WWF RAW is WAR broadcast. Interestingly enough, it was reported by several people on the Internet this past week that the WWF would space out the first round of the King of the Ring Tournament over this weeks television, however, they were incorrect. The final six matches of the first round in the King of the Ring tournament will be held tonight! For those that haven't seen the brackets, or just plain forget which matches are left, I typed them out below. As for the rest of RAW is WAR, the entire McMahon-Helmsley Faction, as well as The Rock and The Undertaker are all expected to make appearances on tonight's show. I would also expect Kane to be at the show, but he was not mentioned on the Code-Red preview. Anyway, here are the rest of the matches for the first round, taking place tonight on RAW is WAR.
-Y2J Chris Jericho vs. Edge
-Rikishi Phatu vs. Scotty Too Hottie
-Crash Holly vs. Hardcore Holly
-Kurt Angle vs. Buh Buh Dudley (my pick to steal the show tonight)
-X-Pac vs. Chris Benoit
-Eddie Guerrero vs. Chyna

Staying on the subject of WWF news, as I was browsing over the Top Story's at WWF.com today, I noticed a few headlines that caught my attention. The first of which deals with The Big Show. This Thursday night, The Big Show will be making an appearance on the Connan O'Brian Show. That should be pretty interesting, considering The Big Show will most likely be in his "Hollywood" persona. I'll defenitly catch that one myself.

As for the second headline that caught my attention, I've got some pretty good news for all you WWF fans that live in or near New York City, or plan on visiting that part of the United States anytime soon. Starting on June 27th, fans at WWF New York will be able to watch Smackdown while they are at the restaurant/bar. That should be a pretty nice draw for the place.

On the WCW side of things today, here is an update on the entire "Vince Russo situation", as many reporters like to call it. Dave Scherer is reporting that Vince Russo is expected to meet with Eric Bischoff and Brad Siegel this Wednesday to discuss his status with World Championship Wrestling. It is expected that they will discuss the incidents that lead to Russo becoming extremely irritated, and eventually threatening to quit WCW as a result of those incidents. Most of you probably already know what happened, but for those who don't, a combination of Russo suffering a concussion in a previous match with Ric Flair, along with differences of opinion over names like Lex Luger, Liz, Kimberly, and Hulk Hogan, and finally the re-emergence of Standards and Practices, all lead to Russo's recent time off. As has been reported here at TPWW.net in past News and Rumors updates, a booking committee comprised of Terry Taylor, Ed Ferrera, Bill Banks, and others, have already booked this weeks WCW TV, staying with the angles that Vince Russo has going, in the hopes that everything will be worked out and he will return to the company.

Speaking of tonight's Nitro, Vince Russo is almost guaranteed to not make any sort of appearance on the show tonight. On a somewhat related note, Eric Bischoff is in the same boat, as he will most likely NOT be making an appearance either. The show will mainly be built around Goldberg and Kevin Nash.

Johnny Ace is in Montana, and will be present at Nitro tonight, in an off camera role. Dave Scherer is reporting that he is there to discuss a possible deal that would see him help out in the booking aspect of WCW, mainly finishes. Apparently, he has a strong reputation for doing just that, booking finishes, very well. It has been made clear, in the past, that one of Vince Russo's weaker points is booking finishes, and Ace would make a great addition to the WCW Team. Personally, I've never heard of the guy, but I hope everything works out nicely for him. It is unknown at the time whether or not he will be used on TV, if he indeed is picked up by WCW.

Dave Scherer is also reporting that Jasmine St. Claire, who has become an item with none-other-than The Blue Meanie himself, will also be backstage at Nitro. She most likely will not be making an appearance on the show, except maybe making an appearance in the crowd.

At this point, it is just past 7:30, and I really need to get the News and Rumors posted, so I'm going to cut this one pretty short. As I stated earlier, this was a last minute report, so I'd appreciate it if I didn't get 100 "YOU SUCK" E-mails. I will be back tomorrow, as well, with recaps of tonight's shows, the ratings, and all of the days news. So until then, I'm out. Later.

5StarWrestling.com - Week 5 of the Fantasy League is up! Championship matches include HHH vs. The Undertaker, Tazz vs. Chris Benoit, and The Dudley Boyz vs. The Acolytes. Cast your votes now!
