Hey, it looks like my day off hasn't come just yet :-]. Triple A had some personal issues to deal with, and I haven't been online all day, so that's the reason for the late update. It is exactly 10:30 PM Eastern as I am beginning this report, so I'm gonna try to get everything down as quickly as possible to keep you, the wonderful fans of TPWW.net, updated on all of your news. Now, since I just sucked up to you guys, I'd expect you all to please ignore any obvious spelling/grammatical errors, as I am trying to get this report online ASAP. Thanks. Let's get started.
Yesterday, as I reported, a new match has been added to the King of the Ring PPV, which is X-Pac, Road Dogg, and Tori vs. The Dudley Boyz in a Handicap Dumpster-Table match. I've got more info in this subject, which happens to be the rules of this unique matchup. In order for the Degeneration X team to win, they must lock both Dudley Boyz in a dumpster. In order for the Dudley Boyz to win, they must put all 3 members of DX through a table. This match has got my attention, because anytime anybody is put through a table it's great to see.
Speaking of The King of the Ring, the official brackets were taken off of the WWF's King of the Ring Website yesterday, however, they have been placed back onto the page. For those that do not know, the first round will be Chris Jericho vs. Kurt Angle, Crash Holly vs. Bull Buchanan, Rikishi Phatu vs. Chris Benoit, and Val Venis vs. Eddie Guerrero. Personally, I have no idea why the WWF has matched Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle in the very first round on the PPV itself. I would have loved to see a Chris Jericho/Kurt Angle final, but it doesn't look like we will be treated to that. In my opinion, the winner of the aforementioned quarter final match will go on and become King of the Ring, but you'll have to wait until Saturday to get my complete predictions for the whole PPV :-]
I have received a lot of e-mails over the past few days regarding the whole WWF/USA/CBS-Viacom court case. Well, tomorrow (Thursday) all sides are expected to meet for their final court date, for final words. As has been reported, each side has been urged by the Judge to settle out of court, but if that is not the case, the Judge will make a verdict, and will pass that to each side sometime between Friday and the end of the month. At this point, it is expected that WWF TV (with the exception of Smackdown!) will be airing on TNN come this fall, while ECW will have to look elsewhere, preferably USA (I hope) or Fox. As for WCW, they will either stay with their current lineup on TNT/TBS, or, they could possibly sign with Fox if ECW goes to USA. Hopefully that clears everything up.
Dave Meltzer reported today that 4 men out of Rick Bassman's "Ultimate University" in California have signed developmental deals with the World Wrestling Federation this past week. The names of these possible future stars in the WWF are Aaron Aguilera, Basil Bozinis, John Cena, and Justin McCully. I wish all these men the best of luck with their training, and hopefully we'll get to see these talents on WWF Television in the near future.
In a rather interesting story, Dave Scherer said that he heard "rumors" that Raven is expected to meet with WWF Officials tommorrow at Titan Towers for a possible contract when his current ECW contract comes to an end, which is in August, I believe. I am a huge Raven fan, and I would absolutely LOVE to see this guy in the WWF. He has a mystic to him that is very... well... you know what I mean. Let's just say he is one of my favorites. On a side note, he has gotten himself back into shape, and has a rather good attitude at recent ECW shows.
Just a reminder, "The People's Champion", The Rock , will be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight. I do not watch the show myself, so I'm not sure on the time for this one. Just check your TV guide, or check out the preview channel.
Wade Keller reported today that Vince Russo's situation with WCW is still up in the air after Brad Siegal, Eric Bischoff, and Russo all met in Los Angeles this morning for their much talked about meeting. According to Keller, Siegal is supposed to report back to WCW Headquarters in Atlanta to inform them of the happenings of the meeting, and had not done so by the end of the work day. Interestingly, that sets up a rather weird situation in WCW because Terry Taylor & Company has no idea whether or not to begin writing next weeks WCW Television. This whole situation is very weird, and whoever updates N & R tomorrow should have more on the situation then.
Fit Finlay was also helping out booking the finishes to matches on this past Monday's Nitro, along with Johnny Ace. Whoever was booking the finishes, I hope they are all signed with WCW soon, because I loved the fact that there was literally no outside interference at all during the entire program.
I'm gonna cut this one short mainly because I need to get it online. I *think* BIG Ry will have the N & R tomorrow, Triple A will have them on Friday, and I'll be back with all the happenings from the Ross Report, along with the rest of the days news on Saturday. Until then, I'm out.
