Welcome to TPWW.net, The People's Wrestling Website. I am honestly SO in a hurry and short on time for this report, so excuse me if it TOTALLY reeks of hastiness. On top of that, there isn't much that you can exactly call earthshattering news today. Now that I've revealed that this report will probably suck, here are today's news and rumors...
A few quick thoughts from Raw to start things off... I really don't know what it was, but last night's show seemed, well "ehhh." I mean, if I think about it, it was a fairly solid show and did an excellent job to build up the PPV, but there wasn't anything too great to put the show over the top. Plus, the crowd really did suck, but I'm probably just angry because they didn't give Tazz a huge pop. Maybe it was that or I just missed flipping back and forth to Nitro.
For those of you who are wondering, Raw scored a 6.2 rating off hours of 5.8 and 6.6, which ain't too shabby for Raw's standards. However, something that surprised me is that Nuremberg, the movie that replaced Nitro's Monday time slot last night scored a really good 5.3 rating.
Other ratings to report... Livewire did a 1.3, Superstars did a 1.4, Sunday Night Heat scored a 2.7, WCW Saturday Morning scored a 0.9, and ECW on TNN did another extremely disappointing 0.7 rating. It's definitely a shame too, since last Friday's shows was one of the more solid ECW shows in a while, plus it was the show before their PPV.
Just a little tidbit from last night's Raw... Did anyone else notice that Chris Benoit had a new set of teeth, had his missing tooth fixed, or whatever during his opening interview? However, later on during his match, the tooth was missing again. Just some useless info for the heck of it.
There were a few interesting happenings after Raw went off the air last night. MikeOK313 sent along the report: After Raw went off the air and after Jericho came out, he got into a match with Triple H with Earl Heber as a ref. Hebner kicked HHH during the match, Jericho did all his moves and finished it up with a Lionsault. Earl counted 1, 2, 3.
Thanks to MikeOK313 for also sending in the dark matches and Jakked/Metal taping results:
Dark Matches:
- The Dupps defeated Joey Abs & Pete Gas
- Joe E. Legend defeated Scott Vick
- Thrasher defeated Rodney
Jakked:
- Big Boss Man defeated Gangrel
- Chaz defeated Crash
- D'Lo Brown defeated Essa Rios
WCW Nitro comes to us live tonight in what is expected to be a pretty big show, featuring an eight man US Title Tournament. WCW is assumingly expecting higher ratings for this show, but honestly, I think the rating will remain around the same or maybe even drop, since the gain of viewers for being unopposed will be lost by people who forgot the show is on Tuesday.
Here are the brackets for tonight's US Title Tournament, along with quick predictions:
- Lance Storm vs. Buff Bagwell (Prediction: Storm)
- Shane Douglas vs. Kidman (Prediction: Douglas)
- Mike Awesome vs. Positively "BAANNNNNNG" Kanyon (Prediction: Awesome)
- Vampiro vs. The Great Muta (Prediction: Vamp)
Also expected on Nitro are the following two matches, according to 1wrestling...
- Goldberg vs. Scott Steiner
- 3 Count vs. The Jung Dragons - Ladder Match (Could potentially be great.)
There are rumors going around the 'net that the Insane Clown Posse may make their return to WCW tonight on Nitro to accompany Vampiro. Hmmm...
Thanks to BstieBoy for sending word that "It Doesn't Matter" by Wyclef Jean f/ The Rock debuted on TRL at number 10 yesterday. Good to see that video doing well.
It turns out that Chyna will be going nude after all in the November issue of Playboy magazine. In a recent WWF.com interview, when asked why she agreed to do the shoot, she replied, "I wanna get naked!" Well, that should get a few people happy or maybe even turn off a few people.
And finally, Ben Dover (very creative name) sent the following concerning the WWF Fully Loaded PPV broadcast on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom..."After phoning the viewer enquiries line of Channel 4, I found out the following information: Once again, Channel 4 have decided to show Fully Loaded in the UK with a 50 minute delay to allow time for advertisement breaks without missing any of the action. But the good news is that they have said that there will be NO editing of the show due to complaints received after the treatment of Backlash. Definitely good news for UK viewers, so we'll no longer have to put up with freeze frames or shots of the crowd."
That wraps it up for today's report. See you later!
