Welcome (back) to TPWW.net. It's Monday, July 31, 2000, and you're reading The People's News and Rumors. Relatively early report today, so let's get this report started...

I was watching WWF Superstars yesterday morning, and it was announced that the one, the only, the Commissioner of the World Wrestling Federation, Mick Foley in his Mankind persona will be appearing on MTV's Celebrity Death Match this Thursday at 10 PM. Foley joins the elite group of WWF stars (Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and Vince McMahon) that have been put into claymation form for deathmatch.

Moving on, here's the Raw is War preview for this Monday, courtesy of DirecTV...
Hour 1: Triple H and Steph's marriage is in trouble.
Hour 2: Shane tries for the WWF title.

The preview definitely sheds some light on tomorrow's show, as it seems that the WWF will continue to tease a Triple H/Stephanie break up along with Shane McMahon (and his faction of friends) continue to try to take the World Wrestling Federation title from the People's Champion, The Rock.

Both Y2J, Chris Jericho and the American Bad Ass, The Undertaker will be missing this week's TV due to their honeymoons, according to Dave Meltzer. 'Taker is reportedly already on his, while Jericho will be, as the charismatic Jericho will be getting married today in Winnipeg. Congratulations to both superstars on their marriages.

The WWF will most likely book Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit at the SummerSlam PPV, also according to Meltzer. I wouldn't be complaining if I had to see the two Canadians go at it again, but then again, I was somewhat hoping to see Jericho do battle with Triple H one more time at SummerSlam.

Shifting gears for a second, let's get to some ECW news for today... Dave Scherer reports that the TV taping set for Dallas on Friday was shifted over to last night in Houston due to travel problems for the TV Crew and the voice of ECW, Joey Stlyes. From what I've heard it was a nice card as it featured Justin Credible defending against Chris Chetti, ECW Loyalist Tommy Dreamer took on the Network's Scotty Anton, while RVD took on Kid Kash.

I was watching Hardcore TV this week, and I have some good news concerning the ECW Tag Team division, as Joey Styles officially announced that the ECW Tag Team Titles which were declared vacant at Cyber Slam will be determined in a two night tournament at the Hammerstein Ball Room in New York City on August 25 and 26th. Definitely good news, especially for me, as I already have tickets for the 2nd night.

In some over seas news, Carey George sent us an email about Australia's Superstars of Wrestling, which featured several American talents such as the Legion of Doom, The Public Enemy, The Barbarian, Brutus "Brute Force" Beefcake, The One Man Gang, Tatanka, and the main event saw a double disqualification in the Superstars of Wrestling title match between Curt Hennig and Dennis Rodman.

Finally, we come to World Championship Wrestling, and there's a load of news today on the Atlanta based promotion including news on a returning Millionaire...

First off, here's the Nitro Preview courtesy of DirecTV, "Will Sting finallly unmask and get revenge on Goldberg? WCW Champion Booker T." Of course, the show is expected to peak with the Booker/Sting match up, and of course, the question has to be asked, Will Sting unmask on Nitro? Really don't have a solid answer, but for some reason or another, I have a feeling that he won't.

Bill Goldberg won't be at both Nitro or Thunder, according to Chris Clarke of the LAW, as he seemingly isn't on the booking sheet for either of those shows. There's a possibility that an injured shoulder at the hands of his own spear on Booker T could be the reason for Goldberg not being booked on either shows.

Last night in Moline, Illinois, The Total Package, Lex Luger made his return to a WCW ring at a house show. Surprisingly, The Total Package did the job to the MIA's General Rection, but Lex also did a run in to stop Rick Steiner from interfering in Steiner's brother, Scott's match with Millionaire Club member, Kevin Nash.

Two more matches to look forward to for Nitro, as The Artist will be going up against "Que Wee" (Kiwi), and the tag titles will be on the line as Kronic defends against the teams of Vampiro and the Great Muta, and Jindrack and O'Haire.

Well, that's about it for today. So Until Next time, Ciao...
